The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

VIOLENCE AGAINST CAN BE REDUCED OR STOPPED BY RESTRICTING SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS WHICH IS SHOWING 'WOMEN' AS A PRODUCT OF ENJOYMENT IN DIFFERENT WAYS. ON THE OTHER HAND MORAL VALUES TEACHING IN EDUCATIONAL SUBJECTS IS ALSO VERY VERY IMPORTANT.

1. Self defence for all at school level. 2. Punish the guilty irrespective of gender to stop false cases and also crime. 3. Police are helpless in front of a woman due to biased women empowerment....they should be empowered to get hold of the guilty irrespective of the gender. 4. Make laws gender neutral ex. 498A shouldn't be on only husband and family. It should be on spouse

With all due respect, many women misuse laws knowing that the laws, police administration and government are biased towards women.Because of this police are afraid of punishing such women. Courts and administration are overloaded with false cases. Then how will they find time to eliminate real violence against women when they are busy entertaining false cases filed by women. If there are stringent laws against unscrupulous women then & only then will real victims of violence be able to get justice

www.eka.care

Stringent punishment for the guilty irrespective of gender. Eg if a women is found to have filed a false case then she should punished a way that no other women should dare to misuse law. At the same time if a man is found to have raped a women then he should also be punished in a way that no other men could ever dare to do anything like that. In the changed paradigram of our society both the genders have to contribute equally in every aspect to run their family and nation.

I believe more than men it is woman that conducts mental violence against other woman. Sex education is still a shamed subject in our society. So, if something is untold, it creates more curiosity, leading to all the physical violence. I suggest men and women of all age groups need to be brainstormed, via some psychology sessions to understand the space of others and not judge others without knowing everything about them. A campaign of nukadd natak needs to run vigorously.
