The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

We are in 2021 & should focus on gender neutral laws. We are already witnessing misuse of DV and 498a by women. Men's suicide rate is skyrocketing because of these biased laws and unnecessary harrassment of men on day to day life. NHFS 5 survey clearly showed more women per 1000 men, even when men have more birthrate as compare women. This is genocide of men and nobody even focusing on it. Because of these laws more and more men leaving country when they get the chance.

Women can be classified as Good and Bad ,so there must be system for wrong doer women who initiate the violence, and yes protection should be there for real victim. There must not be mere assumption while drafting the policy that ALL WOMEN ARE INNOCENT OR GOOD. There must be responsiblity given to them to enjoy rights

Stop filling false rape molestation cases , false domestic violence , stop false dowry. Stop false 498A.. women commission is just promoting for money extortion system by filing false cases. Rather it should work in ground reality to check the rate of false domestic violence against women cases. Of course government says in NCRB data how the women empowerment laws are been misused. 80% fake cases

DV ACT 2005 is most misused law in matrimonial disputes and also it is not gender neutral. These false cases becomes hindrance to the actual victims of domestic violence. Impose heavy penalty for false cases, so justice can be delivered to the real victim. Stream of justice is polluted by these false litigants.

Most of the time women start the fight by verbal arguments disrespecting other gender, there must be guidlines for their behaviours for opposite sex ,especially for husband ,where they start disrespecting him and his family, put the fire and at moment of anger fight starts. To curb the violence scientifically and psychologically we must address the root cause, i.e. social beahviour and addressing conflicts instead of going for legal fights which only benefits the lawyers and ruin the relations

First we need to prevent misuse of 498a, dv act etc. Check suicidal statistics and check why men suicidal ratio is higher than women. What media shows is not correct. Men need support in depression caused my fake cases filed by women. Most divorced fathers are not getting access to their children though large amount of money are being extorted from men by women as maintenance and alimony. Women are not ready to stay married and try to get divorced to get money from men due to these biased laws

Educated & empowered women from urban India are abusing the laws (e.g. DV act and IPC 498a, etc) putting real victims at a disadvantage, as courts and police are unable to differentiate real victims from false ones. The law should be amended to prevent & punish its rampant misuse. The laws should also be made gender-neutral as domestic violence is bidirectional. Govt should provide maintenance money & shelter to victims, instead of forcing them to financially depend on their abusers.

Points: 1. DeCriminalise the Domestic Violence act, which is the most misused law in the country. It's used to extort men and their families of their hard earned wealth and property. 2. Abolish all free facilities, tax rebates, reservations, discounts offered based on gender. 3. Decriminalise IPC 377, 376 which are rampantly used to file false cases on families of men. 4. Bring more accountability on the part of judges who blatantly show misandry. Thanks

The most misused law are 498A and D V Act , which women are misusing those law s deliberately to make hell the life of their husband and there family. When they misused these law the most sufferer are women relatives such as husbands mother and sister , then all agencies including law treated mother and sister of husband. Police administration supports women but not sympathetic to mother and sister of husband as they are not women.
