The other part of present FCI to be called FDCI ( Food distbn. Co.) should plan its routes etc. to minimize handling, trips, mileage, no. vehicles used, spillages, timely deliveries based on Minimum order quantity & Re-order levels with secondary distbn.outlets, arrived at, basing upon =no. of consumers & geo-spread of service outlets, type of distbn. to consumers( weekly/monthly etc) which in turn will reflect upon the first portion of my comments. I read that present Govt. has idea to split FCI. If such a thing is done, how will it prevent any blame-game that may arise? In large set-ups, pinning the accountability and responsibility to heads is vital as, often we find game of ping-pong being played and long-drawn never-to-end court cases. If Storage is with FSCI ( Food storage Co.), say, it should be accountable for grains-In & Grains-Out and all handling with in, avoiding rodents , preservation and water-seeping in.

With kinds of INV. handling in mind and location, no. of users etc in mind, Govts. can adopt other technologies used by Japanese like JIT ( just in time), 5S ( stress on storage, cleanliness etc), mechanization of stores for handling grains & computerization of records etc. One can also adopt combinations of these to lessen handling & thus lessen scope for losses, pilferage, costs etc. We can think of large Silos & conveyors, fed from top with grain drawn from bottom to hold in 10000s of tonnes.

Measures should be taken to protect the food grains etc. stored in the FCI godowns. There are lot of complaints about the food safety in the FCI godowns. Modern storage techniques should be introduced. Local monitoring teams involving local sarpanches, MLA, MP and concerned District Minister should be formed as a team and should monitor the stored food and also in streamlining the distribution with reasonable profits to the producer and also satisfaction to the ultimate customer.

I think FCI should scrap now and instead of that government should come up with some alternate way/approach. Because, this FCI helpful only for their internal employee, this organization nothing add any value to the society and for the people. hence, govt should think about it.

Inventory management adopts systems like FIFO ( First-in, First out), LIFO ( last-in...)etc. To retrieve in case of FIFO, proper computerized INV. management is a must, with appropriate marks, storage, location tags. State govts. must be encouraged to build storage godowns on raised grounds, good roads without any scope for water logging & keep grains free of rats & other insects.Approaches on location based on= 1. Centralized, 2, Consumer-centered, 3. Networked.4. Single-draw 5 multi-draws etc.

Mr Nitin Gadkari has rightly declared abolition of RTOs.Present system of giving Driving Licence is lenghthy , time consuming as well as corruption orineted. If the person is gets success in getting licence but later on drives vehicles without any social responsibility whet is the outcone. Instead driving licence should be given like Income Tax PAN card. There should be no test at RTO or no standing in ques. Licence should be issued without wasting time in such long procedures. Instead, if any p
