Registration of Births and Deaths in India is mandatory with the enactment of Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD), Act 1969 and is done as per the place of occurrence of the event. With a view to simplify the provisions of various sections of the existing RBD Act, 1969 and to make it people friendly, the Government of India has proposed to amend the RBD Act, 1969.

Existing sections of the Act and amendments proposed by the Office of the Registrar General, India (ORGI) are indicated in the first two columns of the proposal respectively.
Ministry of Home Affairs seeks feedback and suggestions along with the justification for the proposed amendments.

Birth and death registration certificate should be issued in English as well as hindi and local language.Only in hindi causes lots of problems while going abroad

Registration of birth should be made compulsory. Consent should be taken from every parents when they arrive to hospital for delivery of child. PAN and Aadhar number should be allotted along with birth certificate which they should update later on.. This makes the complete identity of an individual. Birth certificate should contain photos of both parents. Death certificate should contain birth certificate reference No/ID.

population registration के साथ ही birth certificate बन जाये तो किसी को कोई problem नहीं होगी।

SIR, GA, AS POPULATION INCREASE IN INDIA WE MUST INCLUDE MOTHERS NAME IN BIRTH CERTIFICATE WITH PASS PORT SIZE PHOTO THOSE WHO HAVE IT MUST BE NOT APPLICABLE TO ALONE CHILD WITH AADHAR CARD OR PAN CARD OR ANY ID CARD TO BE MENTIONED ON CHILD CERTIFICATE IN INDIA ONLY FATHERS NAMES ARE MENTIONED WE HAVE TO INCLUDE MOTHERS NAME ALSO SO THAT DUPLICATION IS NOT HAPPEN. CAN WE CREATE TEMPORARY BIRTH ID NUMBER FOR CHILD WITH THE HELP OF ID CARDS IN FUTURE HE CAN MAKE ADDAHAR CARD WITH TEMPORARY ID.
