As part of the 'Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, a series of events are being organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Through this MyGov activity, we aim to revisit history and acknowledge our local heroes whose struggles during the Freedom Movement have not received prominence in the conventional storyline. Let's raise awareness about our freedom struggle & the unsung heroes associated with it. It’s time that the contributions of fighters like Veer Gundandhur, Velu Nachiyar, Bhikaji Cama, etc. see the light of the day.

This is your chance to tell the story that must be told and honour the freedom fighters who have played an important role in making our nation free.

Share the stories with all the details and celebrate Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with us.

I had shared my family history on freedom movement's participation on unsung heroes of freedom movement, on this very platform. I believe there is a mention of such heroes on every day morning news but my family mention has not shown yet. It may be the only example in Rohtak, Haryana where complete family suffered a jail term for one year during quit India movement and my mother hoisted the try color(tringa) on Lahore Jail and suffered all type of torches and was put in kall kotheri (chaki). All these records are available with the Haryana Govt's archives and also with Dist administration records. There are also it's mention in a number of news papers from time to time, they have also been awarded with Tamara Patras by almost all CMs from time to time and PM Indira Gandhi first time. This must be on the record with the Govt of India and the State of Haryana. Their Names are Sh. Hariram, Nahanti Devi, Nahni Devi, Sh Karan Singh and Sh Bhagar singh from vill Bhalout , Rohtak. Haryana.

BIG SALUTE to All d UNSUNG HEROES who helped us achieve Freedom. The Bottom line is that though their stories were soon faded, they all will remain heroes who fought for the free world we enjoy. While some stories became famous with time, some remained in the dark but that doesn’t mean that one sacrifice for the nation was less than the other. Each one of them contributed collectively in the fight for Independent India. They all are heroes, heroes whose legacies should never fade with time. As the citizens of a free India, we should never take for granted the freedom we are privileged to have. Because this privilege is the result of years-long battle of bloodshed and indiscriminate torture of those whose stories one might not even have had ever heard off.
