As part of the 'Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, a series of events are being organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Through this MyGov activity, we aim to revisit history and acknowledge our local heroes whose struggles during the Freedom Movement have not received prominence in the conventional storyline. Let's raise awareness about our freedom struggle & the unsung heroes associated with it. It’s time that the contributions of fighters like Veer Gundandhur, Velu Nachiyar, Bhikaji Cama, etc. see the light of the day.

This is your chance to tell the story that must be told and honour the freedom fighters who have played an important role in making our nation free.

Share the stories with all the details and celebrate Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with us.

Submission of Entries:

Pandit Rajkumar Shukla was a great freedom fighter from Champaran who is not remembered. He was the man behind Champaran Satyagrah. He fought with Britishers for the people. At that time several taxes were imposed on peasants. He united people and fought with Britishers. He objected atrocities of Britishers on Indian . He lost all his 300 acres of land in this fight but he never give up.He saved women from being raped by Britishers. He heard that Gandhi ji was successfull in getting Britishers bow down .He felt that same way Champaran Satyagrah can be successful. With this vision he went to meet Gandhiji and convince him to come to Champaran. It was Rajkumar Shukla continous effort that thousands of people gathered at Motihari when he arrived there. Why Shukla ji is not in the list of freedom fighter is not understood. He was even great supporter of woman empowerment.Despite Brahmin,100 years ago,he has asked his daughter to do last rituals. Salute to Pandit Rajkumar Shukla on Amrit Mahotsaw
