As part of the 'Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, a series of events are being organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Through this MyGov activity, we aim to revisit history and acknowledge our local heroes whose struggles during the Freedom Movement have not received prominence in the conventional storyline. Let's raise awareness about our freedom struggle & the unsung heroes associated with it. It’s time that the contributions of fighters like Veer Gundandhur, Velu Nachiyar, Bhikaji Cama, etc. see the light of the day.

This is your chance to tell the story that must be told and honour the freedom fighters who have played an important role in making our nation free.

Share the stories with all the details and celebrate Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with us.

Shri Satyendra Narayan Singh; fondly called by the masses as "Chhote -Saheb" was an icon of Quit India movement from Bihar. Born into a family of nationalist freedom fighters in Gaya District of undivided Bihar province in 1917; Mr. Satyendra Narayan Sinha spent his student years in Prayagraj (Allahabad) under the tutelage of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri and topped the list at Allahabad University in 1939 & cracked the prestigious Indian Civil Service Examinations ;however he chose not to join because of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's call to the youth. As a lawyer, He organised Legal Aid Programmes for political prisoners after the 1942 Quit India Movement. He was imprisoned during the freedom movement and also became a leading light of historic anti-Emergency movement in his later years. After independence, he was elected to Provisional Parliament of India & later became Member of 1st Lok Sabha from Gaya (Bihar).

नाम-शिवदेवी तोमर एवं जयदेवी तोमर आयु-16वर्ष,14वर्ष पता-बड़ौत,मेरठ जिला-बागपत राज्य-उत्तर प्रदेश 1857की क्रांति केसमय अंग्रेजोंके छक्केछुड़ाने वाली बालवीरांगनायें।अंग्रेजों द्वारा अत्याचार देख,शिवदेवी स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में कूद पड़ी।साथियों और गाँव वालोंको इकट्ठा कर अंग्रेजीसेना पर टूट पड़ी।इस युद्ध में घायल होगयी अंत तक अंग्रेजी सेना से लड़ते हुए शहीद हो गयीं। तब छोटी बहनजयदेवी ने कमान संभालीअंग्रेजी छावनी बंगले को जलाकर राख कर दिया,ब्रिटिशअधिकारी का सिर कलम कर दिया।इस युद्धमें वीरगतिको प्राप्त हुई।

my student interviewed Paramveer chakra awardee Honanry Captain Bana Singh in army he was a brave soldier who fought in Siachen highest battlefield and prove that he is the true nation hero.

Lakshmi Sahgal was a revolutionary of the Indian independence movement, an officer of the Indian National Army, and the Minister of Women's Affairs in the Azad Hind government. Lakshmi is commonly referred to in India as Captain Lakshmi, a reference to her rank when taken prisoner in Burma during the Second World War. When Sahgal heard that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was building an army of women soldiers, she enlisted herself. She was directed by the high command to form a female regiment called 'Rani of Jhansi regiment, where she was appointed as a Captain.

Thangal General was a great manipuri patriot. He was born in 1806, he save manipur from the hands of British for many years but unfortunately at 13 August 1891 he was given death with yuvaraj tekandrajet by the British.

Matangini Hazra (19 October 1870| 29 September 1942) was an Indian revolutionary who participated in the Indian independence movement until she was shot dead by the British Indian police in front of the Tamluk Police Station (of erstwhile Midnapore District) on 29 September 1942.
