Lack of livelihood opportunities for tribal people is one of the chief causes of their backward status as compared with the other social groups. This issue is aggravated by the high rate of displacements faced by tribal people due to various industrial projects etc., which also causes loss of livelihood for them among other things. This Ministry has been taking various steps for facilitating sustainable livelihood for tribal populations in different sectors. Stress has been given on vocational education and formal technical education for tribal youth. States are being encouraged to take upskill development initiatives for tribal youth with at least 50% of such activities to be oriented for women.

Through MyGov, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs seeks suggestions/information from all sections of the society regarding various livelihood possibilities for tribal people, availability of skilled/unskilled manpower still unemployed, various traditional skills available with the tribal population, new trends and interests among tribal youth, corresponding skilling needs and possibilities etc.

For tribals growth should be inclusive. Tribals should get jobs in companies established in their area along with good infra, good education, good medical facilities and transparent and inclusive administration

The main challenge before Narendra Modi govt. is to create job opportunities for young educated Turk. The recent notification for recruiting executives in the middle level management by some of the central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) is against the interest of the govt. The induction in this level never create jobs for young but gives chances to executives from the non performing company (private or govt.). The recruitment should always be at the level of induction at lowest rung. Cochi

I am from chhattisgarh and i have personally visited most of the naxal affected villages and was deeply hurted to see their pathetic life.They are facing hard times even to survive.in one hand they are exploited by naxalites and on the other by police brutality.Why not handle this serious issue of naxalism and hold talks with the poor tribals to sort our their problems and provide them the fruits of development instead of using military power to make their life more worse.

I remember a proverb, give them fish will not be a solution, teach them how to fish will be.. Knowledge sharing and providing them the facilities to share the knowledge.. A king of get together place where the representatives and students have to come together share and gain knowledge, teach them to access the markets - Proper guidance of Urban world would do.. Just a view of mine ..

The tribes of India are the ones who actually have traditional handicrafts knowledge. Due to lack of Marketing and less exposure to city areas these people are not able to fetch enough from their hand made products. If the Govt. take up some steps like improving the craft of a particular area for Ex. Dokra Casting Craft of Adilabad etc and organize a special event and craft expo solely to sell the hand crafted items made by the tribes then I think they will sure have better earning for livelihud

I HAVE AN IDEA TO BUILD AN AYURVEDIC HEALTH RESORT ON DAMAGED TEA GARDEN AT TRIBAL AREA.That can give an better socio-economic life to the tribal people and tea garden workers through giving employment to our project.If its accepted globally, our INDIA will regain her glory on medical field.BENEFITS from the PROJECT are a) treatment and prevention centre b) employment c) restoring the utility of the damaged tea garden d) better socio-economical life to tribal people and tea garden workers
