Dear Citizens of Rajkot, ...

Dear Citizens of Rajkot,

The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) is all set to re-invigorate the Smart City proposal preparation process as part of Round II of the Smart City Mission. The City missed the first list by a whisker and is poised to ensure success this time around. RMC is currently working closely with the citizens to strengthen its smart city proposal. The participation of citizens is absolutely crucial in ensuring the success of our city.

We request you for your suggestion and inputs for improvement of our city’s proposal submitted in the Round I. Your views on smart solutions and city priorities would help us to further innovate and strengthen the proposal for the Round II. Kindly give suggestions for improvement of services within the city with focus on physical and social infrastructure plans. The Broad spectrum of service areas is provided below:

• Adequate water supply including waste water recycling and storm water reuse,
• Assured electricity supply including solar power,
• Sanitation, including solid waste management,
• Efficient urban mobility and public transport,
• Affordable Housing, especially for poor,
• Robust IT connectivity and digitalization,
• Good Governance, especially e-Governance and citizen participation,
• Sustainable environment,
• Ensuring safety of citizens, especially women and elderly, and
• Health and Education

Please click here to view the Rajkot’s Smart City Proposal and help us identify the gaps to make a better proposal.

Senior citizen housing and care facility is lacking in the city. Any initiative to support the weaker sections of the society is most welcome

Mass transportation needs more publicity & passenger friendly route & system for making it more usable. 3.WiFi city, Green city. 4.More online RMC services

It is time to curb energy cost and to adapt new technology. Rajkot has planned to replace all its street lights by LEDs to achieve min. 50% energy savings. Good step ahead...We can still have focus areas like energy auditing of water/sewage pumping stations, intercity transit bus station and within city transit bus station, incentive to plant and grow more trees.

At present the student pass of the RMTS and BRTS is issued by the RMC and for the same there is no integration between the various educational institutes and RMC, so there should be proper integration between the various educational institutes and RMC so this should be beneficial to the students and they may apply through their institutes for the bus pass of the RMTS as well as BRTS.
