The electronics waste (e-waste) comprises of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, and poses serious challenges globally for improper disposal practices especially in informal sector.

Hon’ble PM has emphasized the need for creating awareness for environmental issues under “Swach Digital Bharat’ during his address at NASSCOM event on 01.03.2015. On the direction of Hon’ble PM, MeitY has initiated the “Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste through Digital India Initiative” over a period of five years to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste.

Over 95 per cent of e-waste generated is managed by the informal sector. Integration of the informal sector and access to environmentally safe recycling technologies may reduce the health and environmental hazards. In addition to technology, capacity building, skill management, scientific recycling mechanism, business management training are also required for safe recycling of e-waste.

In this context, MeitY is inviting citizen inputs to provide solution for leakage of E-Waste in the informal sector, and suggest proper recycling technology for E-Waste that is economically available.

The last date of submission of suggestions is 4th April, 2018.

For any further information about E-Waste, please visit the GREENE website.

The company making electrical and electronics goods like tv, washing machine etc, should include the process of collecting the scrapped / unused electrical and electronic material from all houses/institutions/schools/etc for a fair price or as free/donation. These collected materials can be disposed in proper technical manner without any hazard. Benefit: This will give cleaner environment. This will give job to some. This can also give some revenue.

Incentives need to be generated for 1 - people to segregate waste. 2 - for private firms, start ups to devise optimal solutions for waste collection, recycling and disposal. Make the business profitable by giving people incentives in the for of coupons, paytm cash, etc. Private firms can then recycle the collected waste and sell it back to other companies.

There can be two way solution. 1. For the e-waste which has been used but not ready to be discarded. For this government can create an e-service centre(e-sc where one can sell his equipment against a receipt, amount of which will be paid in his account later on.Now, Govt will repare and sell it over the e-sc. 2. For discarded e- waste, a saperate collection centre in every municipalty be established which will incinerate and dispose it safely. It can create employment and revenue to govt.

To reduce the waste. first the foremost problem is belonging to plastic ,it's causing severe pollution now a days so reduce the plastic pollution by motivating the people don't through the waste plastic instead collect the material and handover to recycle machine to get some plastic products based on the content of plastic (or) the waste plastic should be recycled and give discounts on them ,then it will come at cheap price
