The electronics waste (e-waste) comprises of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, and poses serious challenges globally for improper disposal practices especially in informal sector.

Hon’ble PM has emphasized the need for creating awareness for environmental issues under “Swach Digital Bharat’ during his address at NASSCOM event on 01.03.2015. On the direction of Hon’ble PM, MeitY has initiated the “Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste through Digital India Initiative” over a period of five years to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste.

Over 95 per cent of e-waste generated is managed by the informal sector. Integration of the informal sector and access to environmentally safe recycling technologies may reduce the health and environmental hazards. In addition to technology, capacity building, skill management, scientific recycling mechanism, business management training are also required for safe recycling of e-waste.

In this context, MeitY is inviting citizen inputs to provide solution for leakage of E-Waste in the informal sector, and suggest proper recycling technology for E-Waste that is economically available.

The last date of submission of suggestions is 4th April, 2018.

For any further information about E-Waste, please visit the GREENE website.

most of our kasba and villages used to see a kabadwala visiting these places and collecting the waste from these places which would otherwise find a way to ground. Now govt. can educate these kabadwalas to properly segregate and then facilitate collection from them by the bigger companies so that they can process it further with advanced technology available with them.

Govt.should open the e-waste centre and provide some accessories related to electronic gadgets or money to people ,which makes them feel to submit their e-waste in those centre. And by passing the time , people also realize that it is necessary to give e-waste in those centre.

Being a college student I would suggest Students from Colleges as well as schools should collect their old extra stuffs and those electronic, gadget should be given to local government or registered NGO's offices and distributed among needful who are deprived of it from childhood This will not only fulfill the demand of the child but would help him understand about things and childhood with newer way, as well the donor will also understand the importance of stuffs rather being materialist

Aware citizens about the e waste side effects on their health.Give e waste to a particular recycler of the area and the persons who are recycling the items must give safety tools to them.state government can announce a prize randomly for contributing to the environment by not throwing e waste. Particular places were made to recycle e waste that should be far away from residential area. After recycling material can be given to industries for reusing it and state government make money out of it.

1. Govt. should give license to the authorized vendors. The list of such vendors should be published on Govt. Sites. 2. Such vendors should be in all parts of Delhi and not only at one place. 3. Govt. should start giving coupons in return of submitting e-waste, which should be redeemed against purchase of new electronic items. The discount should be attractive (not up to or less than 30%). 4. Vendors should accept item in any condition and should not reject based on their whims and fancy.
