The electronics waste (e-waste) comprises of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, and poses serious challenges globally for improper disposal practices especially in informal sector.

Hon’ble PM has emphasized the need for creating awareness for environmental issues under “Swach Digital Bharat’ during his address at NASSCOM event on 01.03.2015. On the direction of Hon’ble PM, MeitY has initiated the “Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste through Digital India Initiative” over a period of five years to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste.

Over 95 per cent of e-waste generated is managed by the informal sector. Integration of the informal sector and access to environmentally safe recycling technologies may reduce the health and environmental hazards. In addition to technology, capacity building, skill management, scientific recycling mechanism, business management training are also required for safe recycling of e-waste.

In this context, MeitY is inviting citizen inputs to provide solution for leakage of E-Waste in the informal sector, and suggest proper recycling technology for E-Waste that is economically available.

The last date of submission of suggestions is 4th April, 2018.

There should be establishments of e-waste recycler in every town/city of the respective states People should be educated,encouraged and made aware of e-waste disposal.Trashing of e-waste should be banned and voilation of the law should impose fine. #SwachhBharat

RESEARCH ON ELECTRONIC WASTE SHOULD BE DONE BY GOVERNMENT ORGANISATIONS, RESEARCHER'S FOR USING E-WASTE IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION, HOUSE CONSTRUCTION, ENERGY GENERATION, REUSE IN MAKING OF ELECTRIC APPLIANCE'S, MIXING IN METALS USED IN RAILWAYS, SHILWAYS, AUTOMOBILE, NUCLEAR SCIENCE ETC. INCOMING OF ELECTRONIC WASTE FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES IN EUROPEAN UNION, CHINA ETC SHOULD BE STOPPED AND MAKING COMPULSORY MANAGEMENT OF 100% E-WASTE BY COMPANIES THAT GENERATE THEM.

PLACES WHERE E-WASTE ARE DUMPED AT LARGE SCALE SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED. RECYCLE MECHANISMS SHOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE TO MUNICIPATIES AND PANCHAYATS WHERE E-WASTE ARE GENERATED. KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MANAGEMENT OF E-WASTE SHOULD BE GIVEN TO PEOPLE THROUGH CAMPS, POSTERS ETC. E-WASTE DISPOSAL DUSBINS, COMPACTORS ETC ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO ALL CLEANING BODIES, WHICH HAS TO PROVIDED TO PANCHAYATS AND MUNICIPATIES. LAWS NEED TO BE FRAMED AGAINST IMPORT AND DUMPING OF E-WASTE NEAR WATER BODIES AGRICULTURAL LAND.

In India problem of e wast can be solved only by considering Indian tendency .Go for buy back policy shopkeeper will buy back old damage items at time of selling New item and then send that e wast to parent company for proper disposal

First thing we need to think about providing sufficient incentives and the opportunity . so that Both the objectives could be achieved. Rather than going for Multiple schemes , we can utilise current scehme, such as NRLM-Day can be used to provide job opportunity to local(uE) youths to utilise their ITI knowledge to develop from the wastes. High pricing will also be controll MUDra is there to promote this. Start up India , skill India , maxm governance could be achieved through a single process

Why can’t we convert electronic waste into bricks/ floor tiles/bathroom tiles by pressure and heat technology? I am not a scientist but I can clearly understand that this waste can be converted into tiles and bricks to be used in housing &construction sector. We can also develop small machines to be used in homes where domestic waste like plastic bottles can be crushed into small pieces/granules at the home and can be sold in the market to get some money
