The electronics waste (e-waste) comprises of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, and poses serious challenges globally for improper disposal practices especially in informal sector.

Hon’ble PM has emphasized the need for creating awareness for environmental issues under “Swach Digital Bharat’ during his address at NASSCOM event on 01.03.2015. On the direction of Hon’ble PM, MeitY has initiated the “Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste through Digital India Initiative” over a period of five years to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste.

Over 95 per cent of e-waste generated is managed by the informal sector. Integration of the informal sector and access to environmentally safe recycling technologies may reduce the health and environmental hazards. In addition to technology, capacity building, skill management, scientific recycling mechanism, business management training are also required for safe recycling of e-waste.

In this context, MeitY is inviting citizen inputs to provide solution for leakage of E-Waste in the informal sector, and suggest proper recycling technology for E-Waste that is economically available.

The last date of submission of suggestions is 4th April, 2018.

one more point i wish to add is there should be a compulosry recycling of old ,mobiles on purchase of a newer one apart from all the exchange schemes.this can be reused for ots coponents.

i am a citizen of india ,.regarding the recycling of E waste,there is a ot to do.with the advent of mobile communication and no of mobiles which people have purchased and have gone outdated and still more not working ,there is no real thrust with regarding to the recycling of old mobiles,some way these mobiles or their components should be put to good use.same is the case for old laptops,tabs etc.

First of all e-waste collecting points should be set up at various places across the cities. These should be placed at technological hotspots where a lot of electrical equipments are sold and repaired.Secondly, there should be authorised and trained people who can delete any information present in some devices like CPUs , old mobile phones so that no information can be extracted from any device.Thirdly all this hardware should be disposed off at an e-waste disposal centre present in all cities.

good morning to everyone.i also think the recycle of plastic and e-waste... Please strictly to order the manufacturing company to recycle the electronic waste and plastic and watch these companies for they follow rules..all e-waste will be reusable in foreign countries..This process takes more times and money.so,companies cannot get interest this type manufacring....Thank you

Extracting Metal by recycle is one part. Another part - is it possible to process all e-wastes and remove all toxic contents and convert into bricks and Floor tiles, so we can use for construction of streets and roads.

Make well designed dust bins for houses and small establishments of different capacities.and muncipal licences should not be granted to them if those bins are not kept outside their premises.It will prevent waste being thrown on the roads and making streets dirty. Every one should have swach box just like a post box outside their premises.it even reduces work for municipal employees

Sir, Main Problem :- In E-waste the biggest ratio is of circuit broads that has no use.and i think that the biggest problem with e-waste.Their is also the large economy of E-waste in India. Solution :- Their are team of Japanese scientist who have discovered a bacteria that can eat plastics ,we can bring that technology to our nation.As India is largest purchaser of E-Waste. This will help India in long run of disposing e-waste properly without effecting economy of e-waste.

Resp sir, This can be started from ground level like training a group of rag pickers for e-waste collection with basic every day wages.municipality can send tractor like that of'kachra gadi'which collect garbage from door to door.collected E-waste can be remelted and sold to industries. These can be used to make rallings and boundaries and also a resting place for homeless beggers and poors roadside.this will be very helpful for them both in summer and rainy season.#MyGov
