The Municipal Corporation Tirupati is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected under Round 2 for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). Round 2 of smart cities challenge is been provided to 54 cities to upgrade their proposals whose city is not covered in the list of 20. Tirupati is one of them! In this phase, our city has to compete with 54 other cities, enhance our proposal and become eligible for funding in 2016-17.

The city needs to refine its vision, strategic focus, mission and a proposal based upon Gap assessment and suggestions received from panel of expert and MoUD. We urge you to share your ideas and be an integral part of the journey towards making Tirupati a smart city! Read the Draft Smart City Proposal

   Parking is becoming a major issue in Tirupati with the inflow of pilgrims. A proper step has to be taken by the government to ensure there is a place to park the vehicles.

Improved mobility is important to residents, of course, but is also critical for businesses that move people or goods around a city Cost savings in addition to the cost benefits of reduced congestion, multi-modal transport optimization brings cost benefits to cities through more efficient energy usage and improved customer experience. In some scenarios system optimization can reduce costs through shared infrastructure – especially ICT

   City also needs omnipresent wireless to provide access to sensors, controllers, laptops, tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices.

   Free Wi-Fi facilities can be introduced to create awareness, developing tourist and maintaining tourist spots and more parks, greenery, fresh air generation should be addressed.
