Please do these for Indian public- Thanks (USA) Hi, Please make Indians use abbreviations like Americans. This involves no cost. So it can be easily adopted. Spread the word. That makes every one's life easy. For eg: Street= St Lane= Ln Avenue= Ave Circle= Cir Pin code = eg 123 456 Phone number= 123-456-7890 (for the number 1234567890) That makes lives of Indians so easy. best regards Dr Ram Reddy, MD California, USA

NRI's around the world should form 'India Club' in every possible city specially where their number is minimum ten families/ individuals. in the beginning they should meet once every month with whole family. than they should have statewide meetings once every three months. indians from such cities should also be invited where 'India Club' has not been formed. than they can have national meeting once an year. than they can have library, marriage bureau, assembly on festivals etc.

Firstly, we should try that the old art and culture does not die in India. Kathputliwalas should be adopted by NRIs, invited abroad to perform. Folk dance, Kathakali dance etc should first be given priority inIndia and such performers be invited by NRIs and received abroad with fan fare and pomp and show. NRIs should contribute to promote the dying art and culture in such a manner that it is acknowledged worldwide as Yoga is.

They do it. All major festivals are observed abroad in great festive spirit. Idols of Durga and Ganesh are imported from India. During these festivals cultural program of song, dance, drama, and literature also should be promoted.

"Knowledge is Power"- Understand history, culture and values of other countries. One who knows other cultures can better appreciate his own. "Be sincere and accountable" at work place- this is one thing that lacks in most of westerners. "Acquire wealth but give more importance to family values and well being" - after all this is what our culture teaches us. EVERY NRI CARRIES A PIECE OF INDIA WITH HIM/HER - YOU CREATE AN IMAGE OF YOUR COUNTRY- So act accordingly. Jai Hind!

I think instead of issuing OCI cards, India should allow for dual citizenship just like many other countries in the world, (especially in Europe). It helps people feel more connected to their country even when they choose to adopt citizenship of any other country for other reasons. Indian government can create certain requirements for this privilege, but this should also be an option.
