Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will share his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ with the farmers of India on 22nd March 2015.

The Prime Minister is very keen to interact with his farmer sisters and brothers across India and would also like to hear their thoughts, ideas and insights on a wide range of issues relating to agriculture. He has requested farmers across India to write to him and send letters to ‘Mann Ki Baat, Akashvani, Sansad Marg, Delhi – 110001’. Some farmers can ask the Prime Minister their question directly during the episode.

MyGov also gives you all this wonderful opportunity to contribute through ideas and inputs for the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode with India’s hardworking farmers.

The PM has repeatedly said that India cannot progress until the farmers of the Nation progress and has assured that the Centre will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the agricultural progress of India.

Respected PM Sir : I have often heard you saying " maximum crop per drop" and likewise a mission should be set in motion for ensuring maximum produce per unit of land. The target should be to top the list in the world. And with your dynamic leadership, we are hopeful of a FARM REVOLUTION as we had WHITE REVOLUTION decades back to make us largest producer of milk in the world. Regards kkj

Sir, It is very-very painful that we couldn’t save ready-to-harvest crops from the unseasonal rains. It could have been very much saved with proper use of available technologies. We could have used SMS and voice messages and other alert systems to guide farmers. I have seen many farmers were irrigating their land hours before the rain started. They wasted electricity and ground water and spoiled their crops due to additional rain water. the ready crops could been harvested 2-3 days before

PM sir : Farmers r very imp. for us. We can live w/o many things but not w/o food! And we get food from farmers! To help them following may be considered with urgency : 1. MANDATORY CROP & LIFE INSURANCE 2. LOAN ON EASY TERMS 3. MIN. INTERMEDIATES between FARMERS and CONSUMERS. 4.VILLAGE MARKETS near bus stands and rail stations for direct sales. 5. VILLAGE COMMUNITY CENTRES 6.CO-OPERATIVE FARMING to free hands for skilled work. 7.SCHOLARSHIP EXCLUSIVELY FOR BRIGHT CHILDREN OF FARMERS

Problem: Average age of farmer is rising; farmers are becoming old: We should try to attract and retain young/educated generation in farming and that is possible only by mechanization and software enabled large scale farming. We need to do farming the way it is done in developed countries. Today, farming is considered profession for low skilled people, this belief needs to be changed and that can be done by you by emphasizing the importance of farming to the people. we can make it high-tech.
