Conventional education alone cannot meet the needs and aspiration of higher education. What proactive policies and strategies need to be devised and developed to encourage online education and overcome any implementation issues which are currently hindering its optimization? Also how can we strengthen ODL systems so as to ensure their quality and gain greater acceptability?

Before starting any new program or university, I feel the existing ones should be brought up to the mark. I have my physically handicapped daughter, who is a bright student, doing her BA from IGNOU. She requires the services of a writer for which we had requested at the time of admission. Still, in India's no.1 open university, I am struggling since the last 2 months just to know the provisions, rules or process they have for this service, but to no avail. Hope I am helped.

Sir, All Open Universities & Distance Education systems should be banned. But why? The answers are 1. one students will never access directly to the teacher or other students for exchange of thoughts or views for clarifications. 2. Most probability for encouraging corruptions.3.100% Possibilities for bellow standard students for receiving higher degrees without any knowledge in it. 4. direct education universities surrounding always help students TV or computer will never do the same

Need of the hour to promote Distance Education in a big way. Main advantages are students can study and work together. This will reduce financial burden on their parents. This enhances discipline and morale of the youth and such students contribute for the growth of our Nation. They will be more focused towards their growth unlike their counterparts in many other countries.Skilled manpower shortage can also be eliminated for India Inc by providing experienced youth.

Thousands of working govt & PSU employees have got B.tech degrees through distance mode from private universities without studying a word and some Govt departments & organisations & PSUs are even recognising these FRAUDULENT DEGREES for employment & promotion. Govt. should act immediately and cancel these purchased degrees with retrospective effect.

Distance learnig is a good idea, but we need to increase reliabity of these courses. Institutions Like IEI,IETE,IGNOU etc. can play an important role. The only thing we need to do is do regular checks on them in regards faculties, Syllabus, labs, Pattern of examinations. All should be at internationalized.

Faculty can save lot of redundant work and instead focus on adding more value for their time and effort. Institutions can have lot of cost advantages of using such resources. On the whole we can encourage reuse, can benefit from it and add value on top of it.

so that quality learning content is used by our faculty and students outside classroom and the classroom contact session is can be used for higher levels of learning. Students will start to use it and see its benefits if the assessment system will accept and encourage it.

Variety of certification options have started to work globally, on online courses with a fee for assessment and certification. Our regulatory and accreditation framework can be amended to allow for institutions to accept such methods into mainstream learning and encourage hybrid learning pedagogies to come into effective use.
