With the view to cater to the needs of the citizens, the solutions formulated in the first phase would take a desirable shape only after a detailed discussion that would help in emergence of the key attributes, which would help in the sustainability of the city in the long run.

नुक़सान ये है कि शहर का जितना अधिक विकास होगा, उतने ही अधिक पेड़ कटेंगे, 24 घंटे बिजली के लिए परमाणु ऊर्जा का सहारा लेना होगा, जिसके अपने ख़तरे हैं. पर अच्छी बात ये भी है एक ख़ूबसूरत शहर किसे रास नहीं आएगा...लेकिन इसके प्रभावों से भी मुंह नहीं मोड़ा जा सकता. निर्माण के दौरान पेड़ न कटें इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया जाना चाहिए, ताकि पर्यावरण संतुलन बना रहे. लेकिन बड़ी तस्वीर ये है कि दुनिया के कई देशों में पहले से ही स्मार्ट सिटी हैं तो भारत में ये बने तो इसे एक अच्छी पहल ही कहा जाएगा.

एक ऐसा शहर जहां सारी सुविधाएँ हों, वहां कौन नहीं रहना चाहेगा, स्मार्ट सिटी योजना काफ़ी अच्छी है. शहरों को सुंदर बनना ही चाहिए. साफ-सुथरे, सारी सुविधाओं से पूर्ण, पर्यावरण की दृष्टि से उपयुक्त शहर बनने ही चाहिए. इसमें किसी को क्या एतराज़ हो सकता है. लेकिन इसी का अगर आप दूसरा पहलू देखें तो, हमारे देश के करोड़ों घरों में पक्के शौचालय तक नहीं है.
