India Science (www.indiascience.in) is an Internet-based science Over-The-Top (OTT) TV channel. It is an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt of India , implemented and managed by Vigyan Prasar (VP), an autonomous organisation of Department of Science and Technology. This 24x7 video platform is dedicated to science and technology knowledge dissemination, with a strong commitment to spreading scientific awareness especially with Indian perspectives, ethos and cultural milieu. The initiative is supported by National Council of Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), DST.

Science and Technology are the main driving forces of the nation and fundamental to the progress and growth. But there is a distinct difference between “science” and “scientific”.

What do you think, is the difference and where do you think they relate with each other? How do the two words contribute to building and reinforcing scientific temper among the youth? Send us your views!

It is essential to disseminate STEM proficiency to every Indian child. S&T is not the privilege of the few but the right of every child. So far it has been consciously denied to them. Because good teachers are not available mathematics/physics/chemistry/botany/biology etc can't be taught is untenable. Use technology. In village schools the teachers made every child learn numerals and alphabets which helped them through life. Today school education has been privatise and private tuition/coachingS

the easiest way to develop a scientific temper among Indians is to bring science in their own language, not in a foreign language. people can understand it better in their own language. in the current situation, if you want to learn science you have to learn a new language,i.e English and this is where people just give up. so please bring science and all its researches in Hindi and promote it in Hindi and stop the use of English. so I find language plays an important role in it

Science constitutes the world , science gives knowledge about origin, emotions, feelings and needs. Scientific should come before science as only this word if followed germinates science. Science is the action needed for benefit, it is the tool through which world can be saved or destroyed. All what I wrote is known by all, what nobody knows about science is being honest to science. If science could handle our thoughts and make it beautiful for all, world had been a beautiful place to live in.
