Innovative ideas on circular economy in E-waste

Today, electronic waste poses a significant challenge for society. With the introduction of innovative features and up-gradation, people are changing their devices by discarding the old ones, thereby contributing to the generation of electronic waste significantly.

Replacing the linear systems with circular in electrical and electronic equipment intends to maximize value at each life-cycle stage by reusing, repairing, recovering remanufacturing, regenerating products and material.

Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) observes Swachhata Pakhwada 2022 from 1st February 2022 to 15th February 2022 promoting ‘E-waste se Raksha- Swachhata hi Suraksha’. Citizens are invited to share their innovative ideas on how circular economy practices can help in sustainable and efficient E-waste Management.

The best entries from the citizens will be identified by the Ministry and will be featured on the MyGov page.

The last date to receive suggestions is 15th February 2022.

I feel that Government should promote development and sales of hydrogen vehicles instead of EVs. There are various reasons for this. Firstly, Hydrogen vehicles use internal combustion engine which EVs do not. The auto ancillary industry would be relatively less disrupted by Hydrogen vehicles instead of EVs due to the same reason. Secondly, Hydrogen vehicles pollute less than EVs. Hydrogen vehicles require hydrogen fuel to run instead of electricity and hydrogen gas can be made totally by solar energy instead of electricity which requires burning of coal. Thirdly, the individual components of EVs require excessive use of rare earth metals and globally, the Chinese government controls rare earth sources. Hydrogen vehicles instead require use of internally sourced material and also of platinum (which is found in Russia). Lastly, hydrogen fuel can be given to general public via the same petrol pumps which are used for petrol and diesel. It doesn't require charging infrastructure.

E waste should be properly disposed and recycled. In various cases it's seen that people just throw away the gadget after its use. Instead it must be recycled or accumulated at the collection point. And collection point should be made at village levels, shops, cities .

A circular economy is not about consuming less ,it's also about consuming better .Create systematic change , electrical devices are Designed to be that they are easier to repair for ex : by recycling plastic into pellets for making new plastic products. consume less. The circular economy focuses on better use of natural resources and the simple fact is that many of us consume for too much..... when making products ,use durable , renewable or reused materials. The most efficient way of promoting the circular economy is to extend the product life cycle by using durable materials and make long - life products.

Before Thinking of Ways to Recycle E-waste, products jinse e-waste nikalta hai hame need ke according hi purchase karna chahiye jisse production kam ho...log showoff krne ke liye 2 se 3 mobile phones use krte hai..or aise product need se jyada purchase kr lete hai jinse e-waste nikalta hai... 1. sbse pehle toh e-products ki manufacturing ko kam Krna hoga. 2. ham sabko milkar e-waste ki roktham ke liye logo mei awareness phelani chahiye.

We should consider reducing the waste, local government should stop giving freebies to general public like TV, Grinder, Mixee, Table fan etc... because for some people it may be needed others may try to sell if they already have such products at home. Cheaper products bought from China are inferior in quality and quickly becomes inoperative /waste. Warranty and after sales service to these products??? After the implementation of government freebies scheme, my old branded TV fetched only ₹200/- when sold, otherwise would have got ₹2000/-

We can reuse used diapers(after cutting it open) and adding it in mud. By doing this, It can: 1. Reduce wastage of water. 2. Urine in diapers will be an added nutrient for plants/trees. Regards!
