Innovative ideas on circular economy in E-waste

Today, electronic waste poses a significant challenge for society. With the introduction of innovative features and up-gradation, people are changing their devices by discarding the old ones, thereby contributing to the generation of electronic waste significantly.

Replacing the linear systems with circular in electrical and electronic equipment intends to maximize value at each life-cycle stage by reusing, repairing, recovering remanufacturing, regenerating products and material.

Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) observes Swachhata Pakhwada 2022 from 1st February 2022 to 15th February 2022 promoting ‘E-waste se Raksha- Swachhata hi Suraksha’. Citizens are invited to share their innovative ideas on how circular economy practices can help in sustainable and efficient E-waste Management.

The best entries from the citizens will be identified by the Ministry and will be featured on the MyGov page.

The last date to receive suggestions is 15th February 2022.

We must circulate electronic items in different strata of society by donating rather than discarding and increasing waste and burden of mother earth

Namaste. It's nice to share various ideas as a Citizens of our nation. Inspiring to see the ideas implemented and causing great results. If we take Coconut Tree, Palm Tree, Banana Tree like used fuĺy a to z. Even Paddy kind of Crops. Men put the seed and cares for the growth. As a giving back or gratitude, we see the results for our life, means the food, hut, kind of. When we manufacture, we need reconsider the plans like the above to avoid waste and then recycle all those unnecessary things Let us have manufacture logo or whatever to remind the people about a to z utilize. Thanks

♻️ E-waste CIRCULATION ♻️ ♻️ PUBLIC SUGGESTION: 90% of the E-waste is recyclable. So, whatever brand product you're using, the moment it becomes a waste for you, drop it in that brand's E-waste Box which is fixed in that brand's outlet (it's everywhere). They'll recycle them. ♻️ MANUFACTURER SUGGESTION: After recycling 90% of the E-waste, send the rest of the 10% non recyclable E-waste to Govt bodies. ♻️ GOVERNMENT SUGGESTION: Every Country should form a unanimous decided INTERNATIONAL DEPARTMENT of E-Watse and tie-up SPACE OPERATIONS COMPANIES who can dump that non recyclable E-waste in the DEBRIS BELT ahead of MARS. In this way EARTH will be FREE of DANGEROUS E-WASTE (Not only E-Waste, it can be applicable to other DANGEROUS NON RECYCLABLE WASTE too). 👉🏻 By the way, I see some morons disliking this comment. I want to ask those morons that what have they seen in this comment which forced them to dislike it or do they dislike it just for the heck of disliking it? 👍🏻

Please pm we need to change our education system in India because it is 150 years old education system it Education needs to emphasize our human talents and abilities. We are headed into a world where creativity and innovative thinking will be more valuable than rote learning of any depth. Skills training in most fields, with a few exceptions, will become obsolete at faster rates.

New development also help in reducing the environmental aspects of the equipment. Earlier, freon was used in ACs and Refrigerators which was ozone depleting. Now, R123a is used which is less harmful to environment. Though, it reduces the impact but it is to be kept in mind that every equipment is made out of some resources which have environmental impact and does consume energy. So, the use of gadgets shall be limited to actual needs. They shall be switched Off immediately after use. Sometimes geysers and ACs are kept On for long time after the use. Some people may say that how does it matter to others when they can afford to pay the bill. It is to be remembered that consumption of resources shall not be linked to affordability as Energy Saved is Energy Produced. Saved energy can be transmitted to some remote villages for more appropriate uses.

Development of new materials do help in reducing the size of gadgets and machines. These smaller size gadgets and machines are energy efficient as well. So, we achieve three benefits by reducing size of equipment. 1 Reduce the use of resources. 2 Reduce the use of energy. 3 Reduce the waste generation at the end of life of the equipment.

repair and reuse is the one of the solution. moble charger, old mobile phones are still workable but there are not any repairs shop where we can give it and it can be repaired.. Govt should help some people for skill development and provides them some courses and make a environment of reusable equipment.. we need skilled professionals who can repair at reasonable prices...
