Innovative ideas on circular economy in E-waste

Today, electronic waste poses a significant challenge for society. With the introduction of innovative features and up-gradation, people are changing their devices by discarding the old ones, thereby contributing to the generation of electronic waste significantly.

Replacing the linear systems with circular in electrical and electronic equipment intends to maximize value at each life-cycle stage by reusing, repairing, recovering remanufacturing, regenerating products and material.

Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) observes Swachhata Pakhwada 2022 from 1st February 2022 to 15th February 2022 promoting ‘E-waste se Raksha- Swachhata hi Suraksha’. Citizens are invited to share their innovative ideas on how circular economy practices can help in sustainable and efficient E-waste Management.

The best entries from the citizens will be identified by the Ministry and will be featured on the MyGov page.

The last date to receive suggestions is 15th February 2022.

Some suggestions. 1. E-waste producing will be more as we are in digital era. We have try to optimize usage. 2. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle we need to follow. 3. Like old collection of books, every area digital items collection centre will help to collect old digital accessories. Then the centre has to segregate reusable, non reusable, repair ones , demolish items etc like that segregation need to do. This will create more e- waste management jobs also.

GST on Insurance Premium : Govt.shoukd consider in total withdrawal of GST on Life Insurance Premium or at least reduce it and charge a nominal one. Life Insurance premium is paid out of completion, not out of love. We too want to contribute for growth of the country, but please note that we are middle income group people to the extent of 90% who are paing insurance premium. Few hundred rupees saved in our pocket will enrich us to that extent.

As total withdrawal of currency notes is impossible in this country since people still believe in currency notes, govt.should not impose any restriction, penalty in using digital currency as it is proposed incurrent bank transactions. Account to account transfer should be hassle free, barring maximum amount cap (I.e., removal of such caps, if any). Banks should not charge any amount on digital transfer as in practice today. Any such recovery will discourage people to for digital currency.

At first place, there shall be emphasis to design and manufacture the products with 3R that is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle objectives. 1 Reduce the material use. The product shall be designed and manufactured that it is compact and materials are used optimally. 2 The product shall be repairable so that it can be reused. It is high time for IndianGovt. to replace Gandhi series currency notes and roll out new series with India's Political Map with iufnationak.flag inside in it in place of Gandhi picture, abd our national symbol ASHOK CHAKRA as water mark. There cannot be any objection for it and counterfeit currency notes will get reduced. Maximum value of the currency notes should never.Rs.200 only. For bribe cash transactions, it will be really inconvenient then!My idea is that those who are printing counterfeit currency notes will be ashamed to do it , as it will have political map of India. In rs.200 currency note, even our govt.can think of printing the photo of Sharada Temple of PoK.
