The strings of India's development have been inseparably attached to the success of its Textiles sector. The industry's symbiotic relationship with agriculture widens the range of beneficiaries.

•4.5 crore people are directly employed while another 6 crores are indirectly in this sector with a considerable stake of women and rural population.

•5% of the global trade in textiles and apparel is to India's credit.

•India's centuries-old knowledge and expertise in this sector have positioned it as the world's 2nd largest manufacturer and exporter with a 12% share in total exports (2018-19).

And now we, at the Textiles Ministry have our sights set on achieving global leader status for India. Government under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has been pushing for innovation and incentives to realise the mission of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by bolstering exports, quality & productivity, competitiveness, technology up-gradation, research & development, and training & skill development in this industry.

Now, we are keen to listen to the suggestions of Industry experts, innovators, students, business leaders, and all other contributors to this sector to expedite our mission. As we mark the 75th year of India's Independence, we want you to have an increased stake in the success of the Textiles industry.

The last date to share your ideas and suggestions is 15th August 2021.

The traditional weavers need to be provided with assistance. Their tools must be replaced and better machines must be invented to boost silk and cotton textile weaving. Indigenous textile and apparel manufacturers must be given more freedom while foreign brands should be restricted to a major extent. We need more of Allen Solly than H & M. Afterall, isn't the Swadeshi movement about boycotting foreign clothes and using locally manufactured clothes?

The apparel units in India have an average size of 100 machines which is very less in comparison with Bangladesh, which has on an average of at least 500 machines per factory. we can see the possibility for making improvements in this regard.

The Textile sector has great potential and it should be realised by using innovations, latest technology and facilitations. India can make the sector organised by setting up mega apparel parks and common infrastructure for the textile industry. Focus should be on the modernisation of obsolete machinery and technology. India needs a comprehensive blueprint for the textile sector. Once that is drawn up, the country needs to move into mission mode to achieve it.

WE MUST ALSO FOCUS ON REINFORCED APPROACH TOWARDS SOFT POWER & PROMOTE CULTURAL UNIQUENESS.. WERE ALL GOVT FAILED.! INDIAN AIRHOSTESS SHOULD ALL PLAY TO IMPRESS ON FEATUREING THESE IDENTITY.. SO TOO FOR THE MATTER ALL GLOBAL FLIGHTS, PASSPORTS CAN FLASH & BLAZE OUR FORMS OF TEXTILE & METHODS & IMPROVE MARKETTING. ONLY OTHER WAY MAY BE TO GET AGRICULTURE INTO CENTER'S CONCURRENT LIST & MASS PRODUCE JUTE, COTTON & SILK FIBERS.. THAT MAY AUTOMATICALLY CREATE AWARENESS FOR A CHEAPER MARKET.

THE ONLY BEST WAY IS TO BUILD ON MANUFACTURING THE TEXTILE UTILITY & HEAVY EQUIPMENT IN GOVT OWNED EXIBITS. NATURALLY & ULTIMATELY: ADVERTISING THESE MACHINES WILL ATTRACT THE QUALIFIED & MOTIVATED INVESTORS.. THERE BY INCREASING PURCHASE OF MACHINE = PRODUCTION OF TEXTILE = POPULARIZED BUDDING OF LABOUR & MARKET. THIS CAN BE AN INDIRECT METHOD OF BAIT MARKET DEVELOPMENT. WHICHEVER WAY.. WE CAN BUILD A SIGNIFICANT HOLD OF THE SECTOR.. ALSO INDUCE CORPORATES TO ACQUIRE & INSTALL PRIVATE PLANTS..
