Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits towards immunity building and stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. Since 2015, this day has been observed worldwide in ever-growing numbers, to remind people across the globe about the benefits of Yoga, and to build enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to public health.

The preparations for the 8th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2022) have already begun and the Ministry of Ayush (MoA) is looking forward to active participation from the people. As the world faced a tough time due to the pandemic of Covid-19, wherein, Yoga has emerged as the saviour for many.

Yoga is healing our minds, bodies and spirits while giving back to society. It's a way of life by following the approach to wellness, social, and environmental well-being for global development. Yoga unfolds the infinite potentials of the human mind and body and set the guidelines for how to lead a sustainable lifestyle in the modern age by creating a positive impact on the planet inevitably leading humans to make more mindful choices.

With this backdrop, the Ministry of Ayush invites all citizens to share their ideas on how “Yoga for Humanity” may be persuaded further.

Yoga is a Powerful weapon for making a peaceful society.Yoga helps in to make a man very peaceful so that the society also become peace. For that purpose Government should take responsibility of implementation of yoga classes for school and college students so that from childhood only people can do yoga in a peaceful yoga.In Schools and Colleges,The Yoga Trainers should make students as attractives for Yoga so that they will do yoga regularly and so that the society becomes peaceful. This is my idea of making yoga as a key for Humanity

1.We are taught yoga to attain peace of mind and a healthy body. 2.International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June. 3.Yoga origins from Hinduism. 4.Yoga is one of the most traditional physical disciplines in existence. 5.Yoga disciplines an individual. 6.Yoga brings a positive attitude to everyone. 7.Yoga keeps our bodies healthy. 8.Pranayam” is a breathing exercise that falls under the practice of yoga. 9.Yoga helps us connect our body with nature and feel like a part of it. 10.Yoga, combines posture, breathing, and meditation and was initially practised as a form of healing.

Yoga is the best practice in the world to reduce the mental tensions, mental illness and keep the mental health forever.. it should be one of the main subject upto 10th class.

Suggested Ideas: 1. Yoga for improving Emotional, Spiritual, People & Mind Quotient 2. Yoga Therapy for curing minor ailments, relieving pain, illness & diseases 3. Educating layman about Energizing Chakras for better life 4. Adoption of Yoga as way of life and living in thought, deed, actions, food habits etc 5. Inculcating yoga at young age (from 3yrs to 12yrs age) so that it stays through one's entire life span 6. Elevating levels of involvement in yoga from exercise, asanas, meditation etc. to Ashtanga yoga practice as one grows & matures 8. Cleansing mind, body, soul & spirit for better livelihood and responsible citizen 9.Simple & effective social media promotion of yoga 10. Making it all pervasive & encompassing everyone's day to day life & living

Theme for the 8th edition of International Day of Yoga is "Yoga for Humanity." The Ministry of Ayush has chosen this theme for the 8th International Day of Yoga 2022, which will be held on June 21, 2022 in India and around the world. Mysuru, Karnataka, will host the main event of the IDY 2022 demonstration.
