The true essence of yoga revolves around elevating the life force or 'kundalini' at the base of the spine. It aims to achieve this through a series of physical and mental exercises. At the physical level, the methods comprise various yoga postures or 'assans' that aim to keep the body healthy. The mental techniques include breathing exercises or 'pranayama' and meditation 🧘‍♂️ or 'pranayama' and meditation or 'dhyana' to discipline the mind. Yoga accepts. Yoga gives. -April vallei The ultimate goal of yoga is,however, to help the individual to transcend the self and attain enlightenment.

What aasans can not be performed by persons with say diabetes? What aasans can not be performed by persons suffering with thyroid related problems? What aasans can not be performed by persons with Retina related issues? What aasans can not be performed by persons with liver or kidney related issues? List of questions is very long. No Yoga instructor would be able to answer these questions as he or she is just trained to perform different aasans correctly. Suitability of an Aasan with respect to any individual is person dependent issue. So, yoga shall be prescribed by qualified doctors and it shall be performed under the instructions of qualified yoga instructor.
