Since Handlooms are with Natural fibres of plant origin, good for the health points of view. Irritation due to artificial fibres can be reduced.

Bringing back Handlooms again will encourage the cottage industries and rural employment. Unemployment in rural sector can be reduced.

Handloom technology is improving very seldom. In Assam ‘Maati Taatshal’ is still used in some villages by women weavers. Though in Assam in government official record there are 250000 weavers, but in practice vey less numbers are weaving clothes for their use only. Commercial weavers are mostly tribal women.
