The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.
 
Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Most of educational Institute till they are giving the therotical knowledge only through the academic year. In my opinion govt. should go through the current market requirement skill & add those syllabus in the academic and give the both therotical and practical knowledge through the educational year. So that when these employee pass out from the college they can stand with competition not only to Indian Market but also International Market.

Should be under private and public sector partnership. The oversease traning in large mining countries should be conducted under skill development and exchange program

If you really want to improve the skills , then the program must be undertaken to a private agencies where not only the people of mining sector but the govt/public authorities should also go, to improve their communication skills...

The collaboration of Govt. and private sector can exercise the skill development in mining sector. Private sector companies may responsible in field work and monitoring by govt. authorities in step by step procedure. The Report should be send by individual to central govt.

sir, let me share with you one challenge,Govt starts lot of projects on skill development but new entreprenuers can to take part in skill development although they have worked in private sctor and have relevant experience of 8-10 years which they can impart to students to preapre them for future jobs.Any tender which is floated ask for last turnovers of the company.How a fresh person can take up this project.This is the big hindance which restricts coroprate experience to go to the govt colleges/insititutions/schools.If you want trainings to be done for school teachers you need big persona.Can we make the simple norms.
