Allahabad city has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one among the potential 98 smart cities under the Smart City Mission. At present, Allahabad Nagar Nigam is in the process of revising the Smart city proposal for second round participation. In this regard, Citizens of Allahabad are requested to participate actively in all Citizen Engagement process and enable our city to successfully accomplish the vision of the Smart City Mission.

In Round-1; Citizens of Allahabad chose Retrofitting option for 1160 acres as Area Based Development which includes areas such as Residential colonies of Mumfordganj, Commercial area of Katra, portion of Allahabad University and rejuvenation of Chandrashekar Azad Park and Hathi Park.

Allahabad Nagar Nigam requests all its citizens to participate in the Review process; wherein they can share their suggestions to help ANN to reformulate and strengthen the Smart City Proposal for the Round-2 challenge.

We request you to post your valuable suggestions on or before 25/05/2016.

It may be unfair to develop Allahabad on any imported model city.Our cultural heritage is very rich and its protection may be more important than modernization. It is believed to have situated on triangular weapon of Lord Shiv It is birth place of many classical arts

Allahabad is a popular city in Uttar Pradesh for its religious place Sangam of three holy rivers and Mahakumbh Mela. Finally, Allahabad has also been shortlisted by the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) in the list of 98 smart cities to develop as a smart city under 100 Smart Cities Mission.

Allahabad, billed as Uttar Pradesh's first smart city in the greenfield category. The Rs 600 crore project situated on the Allahabad-Kanpur highway would be developed under the private sector and REPL has been roped as its knowledge partner. REPL has been empaneled by the central government, along with some other agencies, as a specialist consultant for developing smart cities across the country.

City Municipal Commissioner Appeal, Respected Citizen of Allahabad, The Second Round for the selection of 20 Smart City move have for started from first April and it is expected to submit smart City proposal before 30th June 2016 .
