Allahabad, also known as Prayag, is one of the 13 Smart Cities identified in UP out of 100 in India. It is the administrative headquarters of the Allahabad District. It is one of the largest commercial centers in Uttar Pradesh, having the second-highest per capita income and the third-greatest GDP in the state.

As per 2011 census, Allahabad has a population of 1.17 million (including OG), spread across an area of about 70sqkm. As per the City Development Plan (2015), it is estimated that the city’s population will cross 2 million by the year 2031.Allahabad is one of the major pilgrim/ tourist destinations of the country, resulting in a large floating population (over 100 million pilgrims – MahaKumbhMela 2013).

Allahabad Municipal Corporation (AMC)has plans for the complete revival of the system in city and make the M and E governance available for common public to ensure good governance. As a part of this exercise, AMC intends to have involvement of public in the form of suggestions to make the city smart and improve the living standards.

Allahabad has to formulate its own unique PAN City Smart Solution (A Smart Solution that could be applied City wide) and prepare the Smart City Plan in consultation with the citizens and other stakeholders.

The Ideal Pan-City Solutions are given below:

1 Conservation
a. Conservation of Lakes, Parks, Playgrounds
b. Restoration and conservation of heritage and rivers
c. Purification of water bodies

2 Electricity
a. LED street lighting
b. Less power cuts and outages
c. Establishment of Smart Grid

3 Environment and Sustainability
a. Recycling of Waste
b. Clean roads and streets
c. Zero discharge of pollution into river

4 Governance
a. Citizen friendly Smart Governance- m-Governance
b. Single window system (e-governance)

5 Housing
a. Housing for poor
b. Toilets (Individual and Public)

6 Safety and Security
a. Improve disaster management/ response
b. Greater road safety measures
c. Safety for women, children & senior citizens
d. Improved lighting at public places
e. Public health & hygiene

7 Solid Waste Management
a. Dustbins at public places
b. Regular & timely collection at door step
c. No dumping of garbage at landfill
d. Scientific disposal of solid waste

8 Transport and Mobility
a. Better parking facilities
b. Better Public transport facilities
c. Encroachment free pathways and widening of roads
d. Integrated mass transport, mobility and connectivity

9 Tourism
a. Better tourist amenities and facilities (esp. during KumbhMela)
b. Riverfront development activities

10 Water Supply and Sewage
a. Control on unauthorized connections
b. Clean river/ water bodies
c. 24 X 7 water
d. Equitable water distribution

11 Other Infrastructure
a. Parks, Entertainment and Leisure Destinations
b. Skill Development Centers
c. Slum Rehabilitation / Upgradation / Improvement
d. Sports and games
e. Wi-Fi and internet connectivity

Dear Nagar Nigam Allahabad swachh bharat mission ke anusaar Allahabad ko saff suthra banaye rakhne ke liye sahar ki sabhi sadko parkon me street light or devider ka nirman hona jaruri h or jo abhi tak street light lagi h Allahabad ki sadko par unki marammat kar unko chalu karwaya jaye jise Allahabad aane wale sabhi bahri logon ko paresani nahi ho sake .

"Allahabad as an educational hub must think of coaching students and their safety. Like- 1. Introduction of bicycle lane along side of major roads across the city, 2. Installation of CCTV cameras all over the city especially at tourist spots, along major roads, near coaching area etc. 3. Smart cabs owned by Allahabad Municipal Corporation itself because you know very well how Autotaxi drivers take advantage of travelling during night. I mean there must be some norms to be followed. "

Digitization must be done by maximizing digital connectivity, increasing e-filing in govt offices, increasing payment through smart cards, etc.

सीवेज निकासी ओर नालियाँ तक नहीं बनी हैं। अगर कुछ हैं भी तो सब गड़बड़ क्यूंकि ठेकेदार अपनी मर्ज़ी से गलत काम करता है ओर पब्लिक की बात नहीं सुनता लीपापोती कर के अपना माल बनाके निकल जाता है। इस पर भी सरकार को धियान देना होगा की कहीं भी इस तरह का काम हो तो एक कमेटी बने जिसका काम सिर्फ उन कामो का निरीक्षण करना हो जो सरकार द्वारा ठेकेदार से करवाए जा रहे हैं। ताकि काम मैं कोई गड़बड़ न हो सके।

अतिक्रमित स्थानों पर जहाँ दुकान बने हुए है उन्हें अतिक्रमण मुक्त बनाना चाहिए तथा उन हटाये गए दुकानों को एक खास जगह पर मौल नुमा स्थान बनाकर पुराने दर पर ही दुकान उपलब्ध करायी जाये ताकि शहर की सड़के भी चौरी हो जाये |

to make allahabd smart city we have to make the urban transport and public commuting easy more buses and road networks should be introduced in Allahabad. Environment friendly battery operated buses and small buses could be game changer for city dwellers of Allahabad who have often suffer a nightmare of getting public transport during night. Radio Taxi Service for Allahabad is need of time. Please make this as soon as possible.
