The main objective of the smart city proposal is to promote and transform the existing cities with core infrastructure and Tourism Gateway development to give decent quality of life to its citizens in a clean and sustainable environment by application of 'smart' solutions.

Unlike a conventional scheme for development, this Smart city proposal is organized as a national wide competition among 100 cities by the Government of India. In the first level, 20 cities shall be shortlisted and taken up for further development in to smart cities. The remaining cities shall again compete to get selected in the next level.

Water Quality Monitoring - Urban population has swelled exponentially. Ground water/Treated water are two main sources of water in households because potential of rain water harvesting is extremely underutilized in cities. So Quality of water supplied in cities should be as per global standards to protect our future generations.

Local job creation. Though this city contributes to a large number of IT workforce in India we needs more own development centre

The housing schemes in a smart city should be common for all. Rich people and poor people can live in a same apartment or in a same housing scheme. It may change the way of thinking and can reduce the gap between rich and poor.

For making Bihar as smart city, first of all, the people of Bihar should be smart, by keeping own surrounding clean. Because the growing population in bihar has put tremendous pressure in water supply and water management the exercise to set standards for services water supply should be improve.
