Dear Citizens and Stakeholders of New Town Kolkata,

This is to inform you all that your city New Town Kolkata is one of the 23 cities selected all over India which have been put on a fast track mode to become a Smart City.

As per the directions received from the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, we have to submit an upgraded Smart City Proposal, taking into consideration the inputs received from the citizens and stakeholders within the broad framework of observations made available by the team of experts who have evaluated the plan.

You are therefore invited to go through our Smart City Plan in detail along with the observations of the expert panel, the links of which have been provided underneath and submit your inputs here within 18/03/2016.

You can also send your suggestions online to the email id smartcity@nkda.in or submit written copies at the Smart City Help Desk at the office of New Town Kolkata Development Authority, No 3, MAR, New Town, Kolkata – 156.

1) build health facilities with affordable prices. 2) kept our national hero ravindranath thogoor memories/places under tourism for develop tourism in the city. 3) ports intract with national highways for easy transportation

1. Need to put bins every 200-500m 2. Proper roads 3. Traffic lights that are obeyed 4. Proper divider between roads so that vehicles only travel one way 5. Different lanes for buses 6. Increased police monitiring 7. Sidewalks for pedistrians 8. Crossing lights for pedistrians 9. Proper and clean trians and train stations 10.Solar panels for 24/7 electricity 11. Educated citizens for a better lifestyle #SmartCityProposal

Electric busses, metro rail, CNG taxis only to be plied in New Town. Strictly ban auto rickshaw which is always unsafe and traffic problems.

The hospitals in Kolkata are too costly and not at all affordable for common man. Inspite of having so many hospitals in the city, there are times when people need to go to Vellore or other cities for better medical treatment and cost of medical services at those cities are much less. Kolkata needs better medical facilities at affordable prices so that people don't need to go to other cities for their treatment. #SmartCityProposal, #NewTownKolkata

The ongoing development of NewTown Kolkata has caused a lot of deforestation. Tree plantation should be started at the earliest. Trees should be planted besides each residential houses, apartments, offices, malls and everywhere. Make tree plantation mandatory for any ongoing and future projects of building houses, apartments, offices etc. Make some rule like: 4 trees should be planted for every tree cut. #SmartCityProposal #NewTownKolkata

Water for drinking purposes in whole of Kolkata is a problem due to which people need to buy separately drinking water jars. A smart city should get rid of these basic problems where people can get pure drinking water without paying for it separately. #SmartCityProposal #NewTownKolkata
