Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

Transport facilities to be improved. Rockfort Temple surrounding areas needs lot of parking facilities. City can be covered with Under Ground Sewerage Scheme, at present only 30-40% area is covered.

Areas like Main Guard Gate and surrounding St Joesph College needs to be improved... Thillai Nagar and Ram lingam Nagar... also to be focussed considering one the major commercial area of Trichy

Trichy is centrally located city in Tamil Nadu and hence it should be considered as a central transportation Hub for entire TN. An integrated transport hub with rail road and air connectively within Trichy, inter and intra city connectivity should be enhanced and improved.

My views.. ! 1.overhead electric cables should be laid underground 2. sodium vapor lamps should be replaced with LED lights. 3.AC bus shelter in all city bus stops 4.Interactive information kiosks in all bus shelters and major places. 5.Bio toilets in many place 6. WiFi connectivity in all major public centers like temples,bus and railway stations, etc.. 7.sight seeing buses by corporation for tourists. 8.power generation erecting wind mills in ponmalai and Perambalur

My ideas, 1. Multi level two wheeler/car parking at bus stands & all important/commercial places. 2. All state/central govt. offices, govt. school/colleges & govt.hospitals should use solar power. 3. solar powered street lights & signals. 4. MRTS/BRTS for Trichy. 5. UGD for entire Trichy city.
