Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

1.Industrial sector should be developed and new MSME Schemes may announce as well to attract new entrepreneur. 2.Motivate Green Power Generation to take part to minimize air pollution. 3. NH67 extrude in a lengthy crowded city from Palpannai To Thuvakkudi. In order to minimize the Travel time, Flyover should be planned. Trichy to Thuvakudi(18 KM) Travel time is almost equal to Thuvakkudi to Thanjavur (42KM)

Proper traffic GPS network for entire city to control traffic, the important places might be heavy traffic for peak hours that will be improved by smart city solutions

1)24x7 water and power connectivity should be there in smart cities. 2)Better traffic management. 3)Proper sanitation. 4)Resident should plant trees in surrounding for creating a green environment. 5)All street lights should be made solar powered.

A smart city should have smarter ways to recycle all their daily waste for the purpose of power generation & other reusable concepts. For Tiruchirappalli, waste recycling practices are to be given top priority. City has to come with new power plants that are designed as waste recovery concepts being city daily waste are converted into fuel for power plant. By doing so city may gain self sufficiency in power demand as well, in addition to increased standards city hygene & cleanliness.

Trichy should be made as Green Capital of TamilNadu by increasing parks and gardening that helps to achieve all the trichy residents live within five minute walk from the park.

Expansion of Int'l. Airport runway with more domestic connectivity Integrated Combined Bus Terminal in the city.Ariyamangalam dump yard can be used for this. Under ground sewage system is must in all areas. Can be developed as tourist destination since the city is 2000 yrs old and having plenty of temples,most of them are 1000yrs old. Also it can be the hub of medium scaled IT companies due to its excellent pool of skilled people(guess it has 20+ engineering colleges)
