Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Focused efforts should be made to streamline traffic flow at junctions of arterial roads. It can be through a combination of efforts including superior road quality at junctions, road upgrade, widening, clear road markings etc.

ICT-enabled smart traffic solutions have a strong potential to make a difference in solving traffic congestion problems. However, these solutions should be carefully adapted to each city’s unique characteristics and transport legacy.

Encourage open source traffic information by promoting online applications that advise vehicle users on optimum traffic route options. Promote such applications through social media.

Waste management : waste to energy & fuel,waste to compost,waste water to be treated,recycling and reuse of construction and demolition waste. Urban mobility : smart parking in required place,intelligent taffic management,integrated multi-modal transport. Entertainment:shopping mall,walking track,park,traditional space. sustainable material,green buildings proper road layout,pedestrian path,sign board,solar system. proper drainage system
