Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

12) Trichy should fully be converted into wifi city 13) Expand Trichy city limit and change Trichy corporation to 100 wards like Madurai and coimbatore. NOTE : Please see my previous comments also for full suggestions

7) Bring in IT companies like TCS , CTS , Infosys , Accenture , HCL , Tech Mahindra in Government IT park near airport . 8) Large scale industries like BMW , Benz , Ford production plant should be started in Trichy 9) Trichy Airport does not have good domestic connections . Introduce Flights from Trichy to Mumbai , New Delhi , Bangalore , Kolkata , Kochin , Pune , Ahmedabad , Hyderabad. 10) New Integrated bus stand at Madurai Road. 11) All street lights should be solar lights

1) Good and Pure Drinking Water . 2) Kaveri River banks should be maintained properly and during Rainy days water should be stored in wells . 3) Rain water saving in all houses and shopping complex at city strictly.If there is no rainwater saving reservoir corporation should not give permission to construct buildings. 4) Sand smuggling in kaveri river banks should be stopped. 5) Government should allot some lands for Agriculture in river banks of cauvery 6) Ban plastic covers in Trichy.

#First_Aid_Awareness People hesitate to help road accident victims because they are ignorant of the basic first aid techniques. False methods are being popularized by movies (like giving soda to an unconscious person). What Trichy could do? 1) Put up awareness ads in bus stand and railway junction Television displays instead of the horoscopes and commercial programs. 2) Thousands gather here and many could be saved.

It may be good ,if dedicated planning for Electrical and communication cable laying at one side of road , drainage at center of road and water supply pipe at other side of road. The disciplined approach is highly required for any smart city. Also all concerned departments should have proper planning and co ordination is required for any road digging activities. Too many patch works on the road

Awareness Display boards shall be introduced in all roads for all traffic rules violation penalties / fines data In all Road side , Accumulated Sand / dust are to be removed . If possible the sand areas are to covered with grass to avoid dust pollution.

Most of the inner city road width are not suitable to take care the existing traffic. The roads are suitable only for one direction vehicle movements. It is necessary to verify all types of vehicle traffic condition and the required modification of road , speed limit , strict traffic rules , parking are to be carried out immediately

need fly over for cross the road in #tiruchirappalli at 4places places with escalator facilty. 1. In government hospital peoples are crossing the road with tension due to his/her cousins or son/daughter any of them are hospitalized so there parents are crossing the road with tension without care of vechiles. 2. In mainguard the road is zigzag signals peoples cannot cross the road followed by the signal too. 3. from trichy to thanjavur highways road thiruverumbur and thuvakudi places #trichy

trichy known for large and famous institutions like REC/IIM/BIM govt land parcels can be sold to few world class private institues or foreign universities to fund smart city developments
