A great step in sewage management is to process then sewage in BIOGAS units and use the biogas as fuel. Not only this, the biogas sewage sludge which is left over can be used as manure or landfill for growth of POPLAR,which is a shrub which grows into adult plant size in under one year.So an ANNUAL POPLAR BASED SHORT ROTATION COPPICE can be initiated at urban level. This poplar harvest(WOOD) can be used BOTH FOR PLYWOOD MAKING AND THERMAL ELECTRICITY GENERARATION FROM CHARCOAL.PLEASE DON,T WORRY ABOUT CO? FOOTPRINTS WHEN I HAVE SAID'THERMAL ELECTRICITY' , BECAUSE THIS IS A CLOSED CYCLE CO? GENERATION.That means whatever co? is generated by this year's poplar is actually utilized by the next year's poplar crop. This technology is presently being used in England. The requirements needed for this project would be a large piece land, thermal electricity generation machinery, wood cutting manpower and machinery for cutting wood into small chips(for efficient combustion) as well as a very very efficient system for collection of sewage and organic waste. It is best if we can promote WASTE SEGREGATION AT SOURCE.The organic waste consisting of kitchen waste, dried biomass like leaves etc. can also be added to biogas chamber along with sewage. The non organic waste like plastic SHOULD BE RECYCLED.AGAIN FOR THIS ALSO,WE HAVE A GOOD TECHNOLOGY WITH ZERO CARBON FOOTPRINT AND THAT IS CALLED "solar rotational molding" by LIGHTMANUFACTURING.COM.By this technology we can mold the thermoplastic waste into useful products like dustbins, water tanks, etc.SPECIAL MENTION OF PLASTIC BOTTLES:THESE CAN BE USED TO CREATE MANY ACTIVE AND CREATIVE THINGS OF EVERYDAY USE SUCH AS TOYS,MONEY PURSES,ETC and even STREET LIGHTS.YES,STREET LIGHTS.VISIT liter of light.com to know more.PAPER WASTE CONSISTING OF papers ,cardboards etc. constitutes about 50% of an average Indian dustbin. All this paper can be recycled. Many of our municipal corporations are trying to get rid of all this waste by just incinarating it.BUT BELIEVE ME INCINERATION WON'T HELP IN THE LONG RUN.IT ONLY ADDS MORE CO?TO THE ATMOSPHERE.Waste segregation at source and proper processing of solid waste both from dustbins and latrines can alone help our 'SMART CITIES' to :
1)efficiently handle wastes
2)create more job opportunities
3)create a more eco friendly city with minimum carbon credits
4)create amenities such as plastic, wood, electricity, paper within the borders of the city so as to improve the services to people.
HOPING TO FIND ALL THESE TECHNOLOGIES IN OUR CITIES IN THE NEAR FUTURE
THANKYOU

4) Sunny Solapur, Shiny Energy: Being all time sunny city, Solapur has tremendous potential in generating Solar energy. Solapur is expanding rigorously, no. of infrastructure are in progress like housing projects, new airport, NTPC plants, Power-grid, BSF training academy etc., There is huge potential in setting up solar systems in developing stage only.
Unused-non productive land is best option for installing solar systems for commercial purpose.

3) Sewage Recycling: In MIDC's, waste/sewage (water) treatment plant will be better option to recycle the waste water/sewage. It also yields byproducts including biologically decomposing waste, which can be used for various purpose, eg. Eco friendly fertilizers, Electricity generation etc. This recycled water can be used for another industries where water purity is not so concerned. Eg. in construction, Tanning industries etc.

2) Water For Everyone: In residential areas every home should be installed with Water Consumption Meters, but the tax charging should be so fair that every citizen can able to pay on his own behalf. Tax charging should depends upon purpose of water usage eg. Domestic/Commercial purpose, economical concerns etc.

1) Roadside Digging: Every road should have 3 x 3 hollow channel both side, through which, e.g. suppose any cable operators want to stretch cables through the ground, can easily able to stretch without digging the road. If a electricity department want to stretch cables/wires can able to stretch easily. If a new water line has to be installed can be done easily. But all these should done through the hollow channels only by proper planning

Newly constructed roads becomes bunch of pots by various reasons, mostly by corporation personnel'. NTPC's plant is ready to raise the temp of city to new level. Various problems are there including shortage of water, deep and low levels of ground water. Here enlisting some key points through which we can able to control the futuristic damages.

Make it clean, as per smart city use some technical idea's to develop the city like use solar energy, make proper rain water harvesting system . As smart city the infrastructural development is must necessary priority of all pepole which improve the life style . Increase the job offer for all categories . Increase the tree plantation which will increase the rain chance in city

hello guys
i see most of you hv made valid comments, but I believe to get somewhere; we need to knw where we are at the moment so we can decide on path to destination.
similarly, to derive our path to become a smart city we need Analise what key competencies solapur has and what are the problems (weaknesses) that we face. Plz feel free to drop ur list of key competences (strengths) and main problems (weaknesses) of solapur.
