Solapur has been shortlisted by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 cities to participate in the Stage II of the selection process i.e. the “Smart City Challenge”. Solapur Municipal Corporation would be submitting a Smart City Proposal (SCP) for Solapur for competing with the other cities in the Smart City Challenge and wants the citizen of Solapur to participate in preparation of the Smart City proposal. The citizen may post their views on how the services being provided by the Solapur Municipal Corporation can be improved which will benefit all sections of the society i.e. the rich and the poor should benefit from the solution being provided.

In order to guide the preparation of the Smart City Proposal it is essential that a good vision for Solapur to become a Smart City is carved out keeping the needs of the residents of Solapur at an utmost priority. The vision should emerge from the needs, aspiration and wishes of the citizen to improve quality of life in the city.

Thus, Solapur Municipal Corporation hereby invites the citizens of Solapur to share their views on ‘Vision for Smart Solapur’ in the “Task” section. This exercise aims to integrate the needs of the residents of Solapur and increase public participation in planning and development of Solapur as a Smart City. Also, in the discussion section the resident may share their suggestions on development of Solapur as a Smart City. The suggestions may include various smart solutions for urban services such as water supply, sewerage management, solid waste management, rain water harvesting, etc.

The last date to submit your comments is 4th December, 2015.

More focus should be given to industrialisation Strict traffic rules and traffic signal conditions. Standard road condition. Adequate and timely water supply. Proper transportation

Government should use plastic carrybags in preparation of roads. Because of this the burning smoke of plastic will not affect much to the environment and the pollution will be controled in few percentage..By mantaning pollution many diseases can be controlled automatically.. Firstly government should try to control on burning pollution..

First of all I congratulate to each and every citizen of Solapur as we have been selected in smart city project.Now it is a golden opportunity to the Solapurkar's to change their image in front of entire world, You may have experienced very well what others (other citys)think about Solapur. Smart City should include : 1)Proper Drainge system must be done every where.(2)After drainage Go for Roads (3) Allot Boards in the areas where roads are good mention Punishment for digging roads.

TO make Solapur as a SMART SOLAPUR :- Roads must be clean, and must be REPAIRED. Each person should plant one tree, if not possible keep environment clean. SAVE ELECTRICITY - "REDUCE CARBON FOOT PRINT" REMOVE street lights which are not Working, in some areas street light poles and cables kept on road side, S.M.P. should consider about that and remove those expensive things form road side. water supply connection should be clean, in some places there were wastage of water occurs,Plz repair

solapur city requires plantation for greenery environment.It also helps for the water problems in the form of rain.the plantation should done in those areas which is owned by solapur municipal corporation.The mass plantation will definitely made changes in our environment.

if dustbins is provided on street for every 25 mitres, then anyone should not throw dust on street.if dustbins are far away then anyone can take hardwork for puttin dust in ustbins.
