currently the due date for filing of GSTR-1 (10th of subsequent month) is too short, as at times it becomes difficult to collate all the invoices for the month and file returns without errors in time. Specially if the first 10 days has more than one saturday, sunday (like June-18) or public holidays. Would request to provide 5 grace days to the current due date, instead of changing the due date in such situations every time.

#AmendmentSrNo10 - The only issue with respect to the above provision is that the industry is not able to claim the full credit of the tax paid on these procurements whenever the provisions of Section 17. Given the same, it is recommended that the provisions of Section 17 should not be made applicable on the tax paid on procurement covered by Section 9(4)/ Section 5(3) and full input tax credit should be made available.

#AmendmentSrNo10 - The primary intention of the Government to introduce reverse charge under Section 9(4) of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (‘CGST Act’) and Section 5(3) of the Intergrated Goods and Services Act, 2017 (‘IGST Act’) was to control the unorganized sector and ensure better compliance. By complying with the said provisions by the Industry, the Government is ensuring a better compliance and controlling the unorganized sector.
