Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

Reducing burden of judicial courts in India. Welcomes supreme court guidelines few months back on filing of cheque bounce cases u/s 138 in the city where cheque was presented. I think this will definitely reduce the old pending cases when no multi city cheques were issued. To reduce no. of cases filed by illegal money lenders who shows their money landed in cash and collect cheques for amount. Court should sent cash transaction details to IT Dept. for clearance before proceeding the case.

Land acquisition Bill- now a days lot of discussion on Tvs regarding government land acquisition program. My suggestion is that government should call some farmers to show their views regarding this new step. Only political gainers are showing their opposition. But actually farmers are going to get benefits of this move. Please organise a program of farmers to show their intention and graivances in this regard. Thanks Vishnu

Firstly people should know what is wrong and right for health & wealth. Its human nature that our mind is attracted by some new things and we starts caring these things without proper investigation. We have to be open minded not narrow minded & try not to be lavish personality in wasting all kinds of products which are carried forward by fake and misleading advertisements.

Specific criteria need to be set for any sort of advertisement through print media, audio/visual media, pamplets, banners, etc. Name of the person/entity and their PAN details be made compulsory printed alogwith the advertisement material. The responsibility should also be fixed on the advertising agency/printing press to have adequte checks in place about the genuinity of the advertisement. Law should be amended for taking strict action with heavy penalities, which will surely deter the menance of misleading advertisements.

There is an act passed by parliament on advertisements related to health adverts - the drugs and magic remedies (objectionable advertisements) act, 1954...we can have similar acts..probably this act is not implemented well and media remain flooded with many objectionable ads

There must be a govt./police helpline/complaint no. on the pack of the product and each and every person or company of service sector must show that helpline no. in his documents/propectus or leaflets or so. Each advt. must announce this no. on radio, T.V. or Website or pamphlets etc. with its product. It must be clearly and easily audible and readable. The complaint on the no. must be solved as in 1090 in U.P..

A Govt body should be formed to check the menace. A phone no. on which complaint may be made should be launched and such no. should be mandatorily be mentioned in all the newspapers in order to spread awareness. Once any complaint is recd, appropriate actions should be taken accordingly.
