Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

The idea of making law is well appreciable for a long term approach. But as short term immediate relief from these advertisements, bringing awareness in the public is more apt. This could be achieved very easily, if the educated participate in a good number.

Media / broadcast license is cancelled for a 3rd offence with the equipment seized by Government for use by PIB and / or Doordarshan without any compensation and equipment auction proceeds (within a month of cancellation) shall go to PM's natural calamity relief fund. We want responsible & respected India please.

The advertisement released by the West Bengal Government in Delhi newspapers on 13th January 2015 are misleading. The state is simply publishing some concocted figures to fool the gullible. Analysis in the Telegraph was clear that even statement contained in vision document of SAIL has been shown as promised investment. Explanation should be called from Dr Amit Mitra the state minister for finance and industry why such misleading advertisement by a bank erupt state exchequer will go unpunished.

It is unfortunate to see this portal evaded topics called "Agriculture" & "Land Reforms" in "my groups". Does this shows some indications of government avoiding this sector mainly "Agriculture" which contributes to major population in our country.
