Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

Imperative for those in administration to be committed to fair and transparent governance. Corruption to be uprooted else through bribery dishonest vendors will continue to dupe with impunity. Complaint cells to take legitimate complaints and prompt action taken against frauds. Stringent laws to be enacted and harsh punishments to discourage unscrupulous vendors. Public exposure of the guilty to make others think twice about tricking consumers. As a society, let us be ethical and responsible.

Any advertisement owner is free to post the content.Judging a particular advertisement on behalf of everyone else is quite vague and weird.Yes,the advertisement should include all the matter like what they are serving in reality and how the terms are going to be.The communication should be transparent but taking some anti-actin can be little offensive.

Any advertisement which causes misleading, the simplest way is to Keep a forum/ SMS/mail id/using whatsup/facebook etc. The person which send the misleading message and it is proved he is to be rewarded and huge penality should be imposed on the advertiser.

7 easy step : (1) Make an agency ( like RTI / court ) to hear such complaint : one at state level ( for print media) & at national level ( for all e-media ) (2) make it popular - so everyone aware about it (3) user friendly - anyone can make a complaint free & very easily via sms / whats app / email / post etc.. (4) Agency ask from concern co. to prove ad reliability (5) time frame (10-30 days),to make accountable (6) put fine and ban the ad (7) put all ban add on website - to shame in public
