Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various ...

Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

Suggestions are invited on how the State Govt., local self-government and Police can take effective measures against Misleading Advertisements.

I want to ask one thing that a person can open a bank account with pradhan mantri jandhan yojna but he/she is not having the permissions to operate the banking service through internet banking facility why? I think it should be there so that a person having knowledge of computer can operate his/her account through internet. Please forward this message to PM.

we need 2 things to start with * let local police web-site have the validated business owners profile, where individuals can verify on their own. Police can charge the business unit the verification charges involved, as it is going to benefit them on the long run * we also need to give them the a Phone number to submit such concerns

Every ad has fone no printed on it .very easy for govt to contact adviser .Lay a trap to verify .appoint govt special officer for this task .take follow up from this office weekly .If ad is misleading straight lodge FIR against defaulters. People dont take part in govt initiative because their name are disclosed.Ultimately they are troubled by culprit defaulters . In maharashtra there are thousands of Multi state societies .they should be monitored by concerned authorities electronically.

The state govt. , local govt., and Police can act as watchdog against misleading advertisements. The citizens can file complaints though Internet or toll free telephone number. Misleading ads should be declared as cognizable offence for all the concerned parties such as the company, the ad makers and the actors. The punitive action should be heavy and must be given wide publicity.

There are a lot of misleading advertisements related to astrology. Many self proclaimed "kali upaasak " or any other baba give guaranty of solution to any problem. This is very misleading. People in distress lose a lot of money on these baba's and get into superstitions. 1) Complete ban should be imposed on such people . 2) Newspapers carrying such adverstisments should be banned. 3) Daily horoscopes in newspapers should also be banned as they are not accurate.
