Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

On basis of a certain threshold number of public complaints received against a product, police department after permission from district collector should not only keep a record of the advertising body and its owner for future legal cases but also make sure the advertising bodies are sent legal notices on behalf of state govt. to take off the advertisements from public places.

Rape is one of the problems which is not so easy to decide and judge. Let us accept that it is certain that he committed the rape. The question arises: why did he have to go to such lengths to fulfill such a simple desire? Sex is such a simple phenomenon. There is no lack of men or women, there is no necessity for anybody to rape. But the way the society has been against sex, they have made it a serious problem.

The advt company must register their ad. and the authorities should check the authenticity of the company and then allow the company to put up the ad. Also companies has to pay fee to seek approval. Like this some false/misleading ads. Can be controlled.

A stringent law against misleading advertisement which make unverified claims need to be in place. If the advertiser cannot prove the claims made in the advertisement, a hefty penalty should be levied on the advertiser, the media carrying the advertisement and the personalities (actors, sportsman etc) who endorse the ad. All of them need to be accountable for the claims being made to public at large.
