We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Skilled manpower is shortage in Pasighat is absolutely there because small villages and towns are coming up in terms of growth so people getting jobs in their hometowns they don't have to come to Delhi or Mumbai to find a job where they get paid same in their town. Being a managing director for a man overseas a recruitment agency in India for supplying manpower abroad, we faced this problem.

Though there is not much land encroachment in Pasighat as compare to other city, it can be banned abruptly by the district administration if smart city project starts.

The Policy on tourism in Pasighat does not exist. To strengthen the tourism, Product Diversification/Improvement is needed. Wild Life Sanctuary, Golfing and religious tourisms are the mainstream activities in Pasighat. The natural resources in the Pasighat like hills, waterfalls, springs, rivers seneric beauty and wild life reserves has not received enough attention and did not grow to its fullest potential. Similarly, Pasighat natural scenery beauty remains untapped.

When anyone approaches the officers for some work, corrupt officers get a chance to demand money for work. Though Officers here are not like Assam or Delhi, still some of they do ask for money for getting work done.

Public transport system is not limited in the city. Various means of public transports ply around the city. Almost every city in India is personal automobile centric. Pasighat is one of the least so it is believed.

Urban development should not misappropriated as real estate development at any cost. This mentality should change in a smart city. Pasighat was known as a clean and green city until recently. Now it is just another hub of unchecked concrete growth. Smart city should encompass revamping of sewage facilities, efficient waste disposal, planting and taking care of trees & cleanliness of lakes. Stress should be laid upon widespread usage of solar & wind energy in domestic activities.

until we are not developing the old Areas of city which are very congested and poorly developed till then we can’t make a city smart we need to replant some areas because in future these cities going to be more populated so we need to create much wider roads much reliable water supply system. We can’t make a city like New York but at least we should improve the lifestyle and planning of all the cities to the level of Pasighat.

The concept of fast track city should also be highlighted. As a matter of fact, many education people also lack the awareness of FT city. Citizens should also be consulted on the proposals. However, the talk show was informative and e governance has been better explained.
