The discussion in AIR is an eye opener. All the while we thought Smart city is all about modern amenities and high end technology. But now it is observed that smart city also is about preserving and retaining the basic traditional features of the city which is a welcome approach. Encroachment of land in the city is much lower in comparison to other places and hardly an issue. If smart city project starts these can be taken care by the district administration.

I think that India doesn't have a shortage of skilled manpower the only thing that India lacks are opportunities, best platform, better compensations for our skilled persons that's the reason why most part of our skilled manpower resides in other countries other than India.

I was not aware that pasighat had narrowly missed the 1st phase of selection for smart cities. And now its in the 6th position for fast track city, competing 23 other cities. Well done! More AIR talk programmes are requested on the line.

Solid waste management needs more attention than what we feel. The more the population the more the waste will be. A separate Radio programme should be devoted to waste management. A sense of cleanness has to be induced amongst us.
