Diplomacy at ground is very poor, for example road to Nepal from Tanakpur is very bad. It was so many years back and should have been in the same condition even today. The roads with neighbouring countries are the impression which our neighbours form about us. They don't understand higher level diplomacy. Our embassies are our eyes and ears and should present a very good image of the country to the nationals of host countries apart from giving efficient counselor services to Indian Nationals.

Renewing of Passport at Indian Embassy in Singapore requires an average of 3 trips. instructions are not given properly on the documents required. Where instructions are given, it is almost impossible to get the nature of documents that the embassy would require to have the passport renewed. Why cant the old passport be simply renewed as is done in the US. People do not have to go through the police verification process. Police verification is draconian.

Embassy of India in Toronto is full of people who are rude. There is supposed to be a counter system where one pulls out a slip and waits in queue. However, none of this works as it should. People do not have adequate space to sit. The consulate workers are shabbily dressed. The people who give directions at the enquiry window are lethargic and do not care if they are doing their jobs properly. Embassy officials are never available on emergency calls.

Indian embassies are not geared by commercial and economic considerations as others are. For example, French embassy in 80s used to send weekly statement of outgo and inflow of transactions between Algeria and France. And any negative balance used to be of concern. I wrote a detailed note on this to then MOS Dr. Hari Singh in 83 - 84. it was on his request when I brought it to his notice in a meeting in his office in North Block. Prof. Suresh Chander

30 years back, Indian Embassy in Algeries, advertised for Hindi Language programme. Number of Algerians applied but there was no back up. Algerians are fond of Hindi Movies and want to learn Hindi to Enjoy the movies. That was true at least in 80s. Same is true of Iraq, a young post man learnt Hindi by watching Hindi movies, and was keen to speak in Hindi to Indians. There is a Huge potential for HINDI teaching in middle East and North Africa. Best of luck.

yoga is a process of self-imaginative belief , and that is the mind ....if time is a change than imagination is also a change and that we call energy so maybe yoga is a process of connection between internal energy and external energy or mind is a process of energy change ...yoga have quality to give a pure mind . pure mind is only a freedom of amount

After visiting the Indian Embassy in Sweden, I have a simple comment. It is necessary for the Indian Government to link with the foreign nation through the Diplomatic team in each nation and to do this it is paramount that the ambassador and the team are local Indian (NRI) residents who have knowledge of the language, culture and governance. This will enable the Indian government to have a good understanding and connect with the foreign nation using Friends from the diaspora.

Complaints against diplomats are unjust as Indian Embassies are understaffed keeping in view the huge number of Consular services/other assignments. In fact diplomats work in similar conditions as doctors in the Government hospitals in India.Number of service seekers is simply huge unlike lighter working conditions in developed western nations. If western workers are subjected to the Indian working conditions; they would either breakdown or desert work or revolt for lighters working condition
