From 7th to 9th February the Ministry of External Affairs is organising the Conference of Heads of Mission, which would be addressed by the Prime Minister.

Inputs are required from our diaspora on the following issues:

(A) What additional services would you like the Indian Embassies to provide you?

(B) Tell us things that should be introduced in the Indian Embassies that enhance your connectivity with India.

( C ) What are the services that can be further improved at the Indian Embassy in your respective countries?

(D) Share your positive experiences at Embassies of other countries, be it in terms of services, experience, facilities etc.

VFS Melbourne/Australia: VFS website is very poor. Fee calculator is of 80th century. Many and confusing charges in fee. Robbing for sms confirmation charge. Overpriced postage charge for passport return. Lots of documents required to make an application such as filled/signed checklist. Two months to get OCI is very long time.

Want to bring to your attention there is NO Customer service over phone for VISA/PIO/OCI from Indian Embassy. Even though Cox & Kings website give phone number for any question that no doesnt work. After waiting for 15 min if we get someone on the phone they are of no help as they are parrots who only tell standard instruction. The phone service operators dont have upto-date case status and cant help. In US we do everything over phone and don't need to visit any visa office to get case status.

1. Consular Wing and its staff is face of India. Professionals should be deployed with higher level of sensitivity and PR skills. 2. All the forms must be same for all the Missions and should be online fill-able. 3. Foreigners mostly approach for Visa. Visa section/space must give good impression about India. 4. Issue Aadhar card. 5. Have proper record of all NRIs and call all of them once a year for a get-together. 6. There should be time frame for rendering the services.

7. Direct flights of India carriers with big concessions to senior NRI citizens so that they can travel India to meet their old friends/relatives and see their native places. 8. Effective Grievances redressal mechanism. 9. Clear guideline to help distressed family in death cases. 10. Embassy Office must be in presentable form. Some are working in 3-4 bed room residential apartments. All Indian builders must be given chance to build one chancery premises to have them worldwide exposure.

Modiji, namasthe...1>If anybody death in out of India,need free flight service of dead body with that family.2> Reduce flight ticket coast to India.3>create Pension fund same like Indian government service.4>Goverment officials visit to all pravasi groups.5> reduce tax by carrying all electronics and gold.6> more activate all embassy staffs. Jai hind.

India embassies personnel never answer their phones. they hardly ever return emails. will not co-operate. too restrict to help fellow indians. whole process to obtain visa's or OCI's too long. Proof of old Indian passport should eliminate the need for visa requirements, regardless of your present nationality. don't understand why "NRI" need to get visa's or OCI's to visit india. It boggles the mind for these requirements.

Visiting indian embassy or BLS office is a nightmare experience. my want's to apply for OCI & they wont accept her application due to her birth place differs on her canada passport. She has lawyers affadavit to show that she is same person mentioned on both passports. Embassy & BLS people behave like governors rather than goverment servants. will India ever change these people to respect their fellow indians with some respect like western Goverment servants.
