1) Assign task of finding scientific solution to the problem to CSIR, DRDO etc, on time bound basis. Scientists should come to site to assess the requirement 2) Creation of water borne toilets with innovative methods to use least water. Create funds for this through infrastructure development bonds with tax benefits. 4) Encourage development of mechanised devices to replace manual scavenging. 5) Assign projects to college students to study special requirements of different locations.

The problem is age old, we have already built over a 1000 toilets in rural areas of Jammu. All the units are being used and people are satisfied. This number could have increased manifold but for the fact that since subsidy is provided by the govt. people do not volunteer to spend money from their pocket.Subsidy comes from the office of BDO where the system is not well streamlined. Officers involved in the scheme are insensitive towards peoples needs

Need the drainage experts in the country who care about the waste disposal and the gutter lanes below the surface, to really make the towns, villages smart and glittering. The way the workers are used to clean our disposals is really unhuman. Officials and the leaders visiting the developed countries should also take a day out to learn how they do this job in a diginfied way, using technology and common sense. How about Bharat Ratna to Mumbai Dabbawalas. SHRAMEV JAYATE, really.
