In professional courses the projects are done only at final semesters. Introducing projects at every semester/year at different levels may trigger more ideas and will facilitate experiential learning.

Vocational Education is one of the ways through which we can achieve the "Skilled India" Objective. As per my knowledge, right now students are introduced to vocational education only after the 10th standard. However if it is introduced in Secondary schools, the government will be able to reach to more number of students. Also it will give the children more hands experience on physical work (which I think i way better than just sitting in a classroom and reading books). Please give your inputs.

Similary NSTP (National School of Trained Professionals) should be setup where un-employed graduates should be imparted skilss in basic communication, Hardware repair (PC/Laptop/Printer/Fax and scanner repair), basic software skills, MS-Project, Data Entry, MS- Excel, MS-Word, MS-PPT etc so that they get jos of Clerks/Stenographer/ Personal Assistant/Date entry jobs/ Operations Jobs/Support staff on govt. and private sector. Certificate from NSTP should be given to them and linked to AADHAR.

Similary NSTT (National School of Trained Technicians) should be setup where people can be given 1 year trainings on skills like TV repair, Mobile repair, Laptop and PC repair, Electronic goods repair, Washing machine repair, Car repair and full knowledge of similar electronic products. Then placement office of NSTT can place them in both private and Govt. sector on contractual basis. This will enable them to get employment in same city.Model can be same as that of NSTL explained earlier.

Once these labourers are trained properly, they should be given a certificate from NSTL clearly stating their areas of expertise. Their photgraphs/AADHAR ID along with skill sets/state/city/expected salary can be put on the NSTL website. Then Govt can then set up a placement office with a private call center where corporate houses, NGO's, Govt. Institutions, RWA-Resident Welfare associations,customers can call and hire the trained laboures. The pvt. sector should partly fund this initiative

To meet this shortage first a NSTL (National School of Trained Labourers) should be setup. 100 people should be taken in batches for 12 months and trained in various skills that will enable them to find good jobs in that city itself. Once they get enrolled they should be given an AADHAR as mandatory ID & then their background check should be done. Once the Background check is done then they should be trained so that they can get jobs of electrician, plumber, carpenter, cab and auto driver.

If we create 100 NSTL, 100 NSTT and 100 NSTP in top 40 cities of India & if each of these institutes imparts skills to 100 students in a year then we can create josb for 100x100x3= 30,000 jobs within a year in various Indian cities. As un-employment will come down, so will crime. Also this will help meet the demands of cooks, drivers, support staff, Operations Staff, labourers, technicians in India to a great extent. The Govt. of India should setup up various categories of Skill development centers/schools in every major city. Densely populated cities (like Metro cities of Delhi/Gurgaon/Bombay/Calcutta) can have 2 or 3 Skill development centers/schools in different corners of the city. First 40 such cities should be identified and then 100 such Skill development centers/schools should be setup. Especially in highly urban areas there is a shortage of skilled labourers, technicians &professionals.
