A lot of schemes and measures are already in places but lack honest execution. The 'Rural Warehouse' scheme promoted by NABARD is one such example. The Government should concentrate on making this scheme easy to apply for and available to small farmers and common man. Then only it can be made successful.Ease of opening a business through this schemes is comparable to climbing Mt. Everest! There must be atleast one smal Cold Store Warehouse & a waste-processing centre at each Mandi Sthal.

1. Ban gunny bags and propose that all fruits and vegetables should be transported in crates 2. Allow private warehouses to affiliate with Food Corporation of India, and give them necessary tools to integrate with national food supply chain network 3. Allow farmers to sell produce to anyone, not just APMC 4. Release a central floor price for goods and also allow states to increase the floor price depending on the district 5. Allow farmers to create food cooperatives like Amul

Most of the vegetables are damaged due to lack of proper storage, transportation and due to lack of awareness to store using advanced methods.so most of the unemployed youths should be used in this storage and transport system by creating govt udyan freshes.farmers should be encouraged to produce more vegetables which can be available for people at low cost. most important thing is road transport which needs more improvement than preasent

Why cant we have a contract between directly between the industry and farmer with the help of government. For eg: Tomato. It has the highest processing options such as sauce, ketchup, puree etc. If the farmer has a year round contract with the industry he would not be dependent on market forces and would not be forced to throw away the yield when the price crashes. Same can be done with onion and potato. What will this do is that it will bring price stability and will benefit all.

Fruits and Vegetables are mainly procured and used by Hotels and Departmental Stores. Government should create new Corporation on all India basis to appoint several marketing staff with full pledged vehicles and air conditioned godowns. They will purchase these fruits and vegetables on the spot and deliver to the Hotels and Departmental Stores directly in air conditioned vehicles. The profit earned will be used for the development of this Corporation and to pay for staff and vehicles.

We should bring up the "Contract Farming" in a very big way.... all the Lands which are Not Cultivated due to various reason ( farmers doesn't have sufficient money or land is very small to manage or the land is not fertile ), the respective Government should call for Tender and give these lands to Private Agriculture Companies for Cultivation. There by we can assure Job for those Farmers.

In our place cold stores available for only Potato, but we need for all vegetable. Please make a 1 year diploma course in Agri Universities for Storage of fruits and vegetables and make a program for subsidy on making cold stores for fruit and vegetables.... by this way we can increase more business for farmers and other youth.
